Summary: Kagome had been attuned to youkai blades from the very beginning. That the blades formed from the Dog General's fangs took a fancy to her was likely a product of the deceased Inutaisho's unusual fondness for human females: What a daiyoukai wants, he gets.
My Comments: Super cool take on the fang swords, and very realistic progress as far as the pace of the story goes. It is written in drabble form, which can take a bit to get used to, but it's totally worth it. This is possibly my favorite Inuyasha fic (next to another that I'm gonna rec next), and I just can't get over how awesome it is.
Basically the swords each contain a shadow of Inu no Taisho, and Kagome can see them due to her miko powers. This gives little advantage except that she can see attacks and such easier, until the portal to the underworld is opened and Inu no Taisho is released, and ends up bound to her. Kagome learns to be badass (with work! not just I picked up a sword and am a complete natural), while maintaining her gentle heart (which isn't over exaggerated like fanfiction likes to do.
