Red Chain Chomps In Games Outside Of Paper Mario
Red Chain Chomps are an enemy that first appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and show up again in Super Paper Mario as part of the Underchomp.
They also show up in the main world in games such as in Mario Party 7, and WarioWare Touched. Once again another example of a enemy that was introduced in the Paper games, and still shows up in the main world.
Today's additions are the seven Koopalings! These guys were pretty fun to work on, especially taking inspiration from a lot of the stuff they're known for using in battle. It was also fun giving them fun weapons to use, such as Lemmy's Bumper or Morton's Skewer gauntlets. Fun fact: all seven of them are based on a specific boss fight (except Lemmy). Think you're able to recognize them all?
Wait there's only six here. Oh yeah, I forgot one of them, and it's probably the most interesting idea out of all of them:
Yup! Iggy found his way into the Underwhere and stole its three-headed guardian to carry around his chariot. He's always had a strong relationship to Chomps, so why not use the strongest ones of them all? Bringing the world of regular Mario together with the world of Super Paper Mario is one of my favorite things to do with this project, bringing the whole shared universe closer than what just having the Underchomp as a character would accomplish.
Underchomp from Super Paper Mario is pupy!
Don’t ask how long this took
Can I get a little...UNDERCHOMP!
The other day, I was playing Child of Light and suddenly was thinking of a What If moment.
I ended doing an hybrid of styles
(also, that was my main combination of Hero + Pixl for this battle)
