Underdew!Sans Heart Events
This is a long post, my apologies. Here is a detailed description of a budding relationship between Sans and the Farmer where the Farmer pursues the older skeleton bro. The Heart Events are written like game scenes.
Enter Cindersap Forest during any season on a day that is sunny or cloudy between the hours of 10:00am-2:00pm and Papyrus’ Heart level is at Two Hearts minimum.
The Farmer stumbles upon Papyrus and Sans, it seems Papyrus has set up a maze of puzzles for the Farmer and they’ve ‘fallen into his trap nyeh heh heh’. The Farmer has the option to either participate in Papyrus’ shenanigans or tell him he’s lame and currently busy which will have no effect on Papyrus’ heart level but will drop Sans’ to One Heart. If the Farmer plays along and completes each puzzle trap concocted by Papyrus then they will gain One Heart level for both of the skele-brothers.
The next day Sans will appear outside the Farmer’s Farmhouse when they exit. If the Farmer had rejected Papyrus’ puzzle shenanigans he’ll ask the Farmer to humor Papyrus in the future at least. It’d make his brother happier. If the Farmer participated in the puzzle traps Sans will thank the Farmer for humoring his brother, that it really boosted his brother’s mood.
Enter Grillby’s Bar on a rainy Spring day between the hours of 6:00pm-10:00pm. Unlocking the Bus is required to view this event.
The Farmer enters a lively bar with various Undergrounders enjoying refreshments. Sans is at the bar receiving a bottle of ketchup from the barman, Grillby notices the Farmer walking up and casually waves at them.
With a wide grin Sans will tap the bar-seat to join him before asking Grillby for a burg and fry, his treat, and winks at the Farmer; somehow without eyelids to do so. The Farmer obliges and takes their seat at the bar next to Sans to only hear a loud wet flapping fart in its slow high pitched death throes. Sans had placed a whoopee cushion underneath the cushion of the bar-seat. The whole bar hears it and turns their attention to Sans and the Farmer.
The Farmer can either react by being mortified and fleeing the premises, which will not affect Sans’ heart level, or they can laugh and make a fart joke to turn the building tension around which will accrue a small amount of heart points with Sans.
The bar will burst into raucous laughter either way and Grillby will place a burg and fry in front of them. If the Farmer is still present he’ll offer either dish to them and chuckle at their joke. He’ll ask them if they plan on planting any tomatoes this year. Choosing Yes or No will not affect his heart level, but he suddenly remembers he has somewhere to be and leaves the Farmer with both the burg and fry, making sure to tell Grillby to put it on his tab before shortcutting out.
The Farmer will receive a request for one tomato in the mail from Sans during the Summer only if they’ve seen his Four Heart Event.
Upon delivery completion he’ll thank the Farmer and hopes to ketchup with them later. The next day he’ll mail the Farmer a recipe for Sans’ Secret Ketchup recipe in addition to gaining one Heart Level if completed in the same year and month the letter is received.
Enter the Secret Woods on a sunny Summer day between the hours of 12:00pm-2:00pm.
The Farmer is walking around the Secret Woods in search of foragables and placing them in their bag as they go. When finished they use one of the secret shortcuts through the shrubbery to return to the main clearing of the woods but as they make the turn they come face to face with Sans in the shadows. He’s just as startled to see the Farmer and flashes his eye with an audible alert. It’s such a surprise to see a skeleton in this part of the woods for the Farmer that they faint on the spot. Sans chuckles when he realizes who startled him but when the Farmer hits the ground he immediately becomes concerned.
Later the Farmer wakes up in Harvey’s Clinic with Sans at their bedside and Harvey at the foot of the bed talking medical speak to the skeleton. They both notice the Farmer has awakened and Sans sheepishly apologizes to them for being such a bonehead and rattling them so badly. Harvey will interject that the Farmer had just pushed themselves too hard for the day and should remain at the clinic overnight to recover properly.
The Farmer can either be upset with Sans, which will have no effect on his Heart Level, or they can make light of the situation by telling him they were just really falling for him. Doing so will bring a blush to Sans’ face as he’s at a loss for words. He’ll get up and say he just remembered he had somewhere to be and shortcuts away.
After viewing the Heart Event Sans will start sending the Farmer goodies in the mail such as pizza, hamburgers, ice-cream, and various geode types.
Enter the Beach on a clear Summer night between the hours of 8:00pm-10:00pm.
The Farmer notices Sans laying on the beach watching the stars as they walk up to him. Sans will see them approach and greets the Farmer casually, glancing at them briefly, before returning his gaze to the twinkling sky. He asks if the Farmer wants to join his stargazing. If answered Yes or No Sans' Heart Level will not be affected, but answering No will end the event early as he just realized how late it is now. Papyrus would have his hide if he had any flesh to have. He stops briefly before exiting the beach to look back at the Farmer and wishes them a good night, and to not stay up too late night fishing.
If the Farmer answers Yes they will sit down on the beach with Sans, laying back onto the sand comfortably next to him. There’s only the background of the waves washing up on the shore, splashing against the docks calmly. A melancholy tone similar to It’s Raining Somewhere Else creeps up as the background noise deafens.
Sans will begin talking about how difficult life Underground was, the fear and hope many of them had, and whether or not they’d ever see the surface. He’s enjoying the peace since their arrival to the surface but he was nervous in the beginning about how the Humans would receive Monsters. Ultimately he’s grateful for the Farmer, and how they’ve fought for Monsterkind every step of the way since the Undergrounders moved into the Valley but there is something he’s been feeling about them that has him flustered lately. He can’t really explain it.
He offers his hand to the Farmer, glancing sheepishly at them, and a choice to reject or accept his hand appears. Rejecting his hand, the Farmer will also reject his advances and say they’re glad that he’s found a friend in them He’ll look briefly dejected but ultimately understands and the scene ends early with the Farmer getting up and exiting the Beach, mentioning how late it is.
If the Farmer accepts his hand the lighting dims around them as they watch the stars, the scene pans up to reveal a twinkling night sky. Sans will say he’s glad he met them, and the scene fades to black to reveal the both of them outside of the Farmhouse, Sans had walked the Farmer home. The event ends with a goodnight kiss.
After viewing Sans’ Eight Heart Event the Farmer may now gift him a bouquet to begin dating him. Purchase a bouquet at Pierre’s Store.
When presented to Sans he will be surprised, momentarily silent, before he grins so wide and a blush so deep to match. He chuckles abashedly before accepting the bouquet asking “Is this a Human tradition? Did you want to be with.. me? Heh, well that’s bo-kay with me.”
Sans is now the Farmer’s boyfriend.
The Farmer will receive a letter the next day upon reaching ten hearts asking for them to meet Sans in the Secret Woods at the pond.
Enter the Secret Woods on a clear day between the hours of 12:00pm-2:00pm.
The Farmer is the first to arrive at the pond in the Secret Woods. They look around, confused, wondering where Sans is when he walks out from behind a bush. The Farmer is certain he wasn’t there a moment ago, and asks how he got there. Sans will chuckle, and reply that he took a shortcut. A few moments of silence as he watches the Farmer, he looks away, gazing into the watery reflection of the pond before exhaling a world weary sigh.
Silence, the Farmer can tell this is difficult for him, and follows where he’s looking; their reflections looking at each other gloomily. They don’t move in, or touch him, they give him the space he needs to speak. It would be an understatement of how concerned the Farmer was right then, a knot forming in their stomach, and a lump in their throat. They wanted nothing more than to crack a joke to break the tension.
Sans’ voice cracks slightly, he clears his throat; despite not having one.
“Look… [Farmer] I… I thought about it but… I don’t know if I can give you what you’re looking for. I…” He starts, using the Farmer’s name instead of their nickname, trailing slowly off.
“Tibia honest…” He chuckles, making puns despite the heavy tone being set, like the habitual jokester he is.
“I don’t know how this could work between us.. I mean you’re a Human and I’m.. Well.. If you want to cut deep to the bone.. I’m a Monster.”
“I’ve researched your Human customs, the typical traditions, expectations.. I don’t know if I could have children with you.. I don’t even know if I want them.. The thought scares me.. I..” His eyes grow distant as if watching something far away happening, several moments pass. His bones begin to rattle and he needs to take a deep breath to compose himself again.
He clicks his tongue, despite being a skeleton, he redirects his gaze at the Farmer who is listening intently. Attempting to gauge their reaction, desperately looking into their eyes.
The Farmer gazes back, two choices appear, the first is to reassure Sans that the differences in their physiology matter little to them and they respect his concern and would never want to place them in an uncomfortable position. They love him and are prepared to be childless forever, as it’s not children they seek, but Sans’ companionship. Screw tradition!
The second choice is to draw back from Sans and break off their relationship. It may be better to remain just friends after all and they will not deny themselves their dream of children. The eye-lights in Sans’ skull dim out to black, he’s heartbroken, but he manages to stammer out a chuckle in agreement. He bids the Farmer a happy life. The scene ends and Sans is now down to six hearts.
However if the Farmer chooses the first option Sans’ eyes widen, despite having only a skull, he’s absolutely blown away by their determination to be with him. Sans reaches for the Farmer’s hands, the Farmer grasps his bony phalanges and pulls him into an embrace. The two hold each other tightly, Sans nestles his face into the Farmer’s collarbone, and the Farmer whispers intelligibly into his ear-hole.
The flustered skeleton will muffledly tell the Farmer he loves them and they stay like this for minutes, an hour, maybe even for hours, but eventually the two part from each other. Feeling more confident in their relationship than ever before.
After the ten heart event has concluded, when talking to Sans he’ll dumbfoundedly blush at the Farmer for a few moments before stammering a greeting. Various Undergrounders will also comment on how cloud nine Sans seems to be on lately. Papyrus and Undyne will be incredibly suspicious and suggestive about the Farmer and Sans’ relationship.
Mermaid Pendant Dialogue 🐚
After viewing Sans’ Ten Heart Event the Farmer may now present to him a mermaid pendant to get married.
When offered to Sans he’ll be surprised to seeing it, but blushes, and accepts the pendant while saying “Are you... Are you sure? You want to make us official…? That’s spine I guess, as long as we're together. Don’t worry I won’t get cold feet. Heh, don’t have any skin to cold in. I guess the ceremony will be in three days.”
Sans will get everything set up for the wedding and Mayor Lewis will officiate the partnership between the two with Asgore’s blessing as well.
Sans and Papyrus will move in. He'll mention that Papyrus would get lonely in that big house alone and that he appreciates the Farmer for letting his brother move in as well.
Fourteen Hearts ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Enter Pelican town on a sunny Summer 16th between the hours of 12:00pm-4:00pm.
The Farmer is walking past the ice-cream stand that Alex usually runs to instead find Sans behind the counter selling ice-cream. The Farmer will approach the counter and inquire where Alex went and Sans will say he’s filling in for him for the day.
Suddenly a line of various Villagers and Undergrounders has formed for ice-cream. The sun beating intensely down on everyone currently outside. Sans will look at the Farmer and say: “Welp, better get to it, these cones won’t fill themselves. Here on the house.”
Sans whispers with a wink and the Farmer gets an ice-cream for free. The scene ends with Sans scooping ice-cream into cones, while sneakily setting up hotdog supplies between customers.
Enter the Farmhouse between the hours of 5:00pm-8:00pm the same day.
Later that day when the Farmer returns home they’ll see Sans passed out on the couch. He must have worked himself to the bone. The Farmer has two options with how to handle Sans impromptu, but well deserved snooze. The first is to drape a blanket on top of him and let him rest soundly on the couch. The second option is to gently pick Sans up from the couch and carry him to their comfy bed, noting how light he actually is.
Sans will remain in the bed until the next day. Go to sleep for the night and the next day Sans will greet them when they wake up. He’ll mention how he slept like a baby but even more importantly his side gig was such a hit yesterday that Alex and Gus want Sans to run the Ice-cream Stand as a Hotdog Stand during the Spring, Fall, and in addition to the Ice-cream sold during the Summer season.
The mysterious misc expense is now revealed to be Sans’ hotdog side gig and now the gold earned per night ranges between 250g-500g.
Sans’ side room in the Farmhouse will consist of bookshelves filled with various sciences, an elliptical machine, and a pile of dirty socks in the corner. His space outside will consist of a BBQ grill and beach folding chair for napping in. If standing at the BBQ and talked to he’ll gift the Farmer a hamburger once per day. He does not help with chores around the Farm but there is a mysterious amount of gold ranging between 50g-250g that appears as a misc gain every night when the Farmer goes to sleep for the day. The children’s bedroom will be transformed into Papyrus’ bedroom as the two are a package deal and inseparable. Papyrus will move out if Sans is divorced.
Sans is not a morning person, he will wake up at 10am everyday and can be found periodically napping in various locations. This means the usual spousal meal received in the morning (like the Valley candidates) is a hamburger from the grill. He’ll largely hang out around the Farm or Farmhouse but can be occasionally found at Pierre’s Store, the Secret Woods, Grillby’s Bar, or the Beach during the afternoons or evenings. When spoken to while he is out and about he’ll greet the Farmer with a corny pet name after gazing lovingly at them for a few moments, wondering how in the world a bonehead like him could be so lucky.
Sans will not suggest kids, adoption, or otherwise. He’s happy with the Farmer and the way things are at the moment and has yet to overcome his insecurities about parenting. If the Farmer is so intent on having children they may divorce Sans via the book in Mayor Lewis’ house. Attempting to erase Sans’ memories at the Witch’s Hut will only partially succeed as he is aware of disturbances in the timeline, per his time in the Underground. Instead he’ll become unavailable for marriage/dating if the Farmer attempts to re-begin the courting process. He can tell something is off about the Farmer, familiarly sinister, and he’s watching them closely…
