The House Blossom Alliance
(i still need a name / tag for this au lol, anyways-)
So! The House Blossom Alliance, and some generals about the continent as a whole.
First! The continent is actually pretty big. The Empires that we’re familiar with (aka the house blossom alliance), are only twelve out of nineteen total. No I will not go into detail about the other ones yet (though, you may be familiar with a couple.) There are the twelve empires of the house blossom alliance in the north, plus that spruce forest empire / large island just north of the Ocean Empire, and then six more scattered across the southern half of the continent.
The House Blossom Alliance is unique due to its sheer size, and being the only one of its kind in history. Before Lady Katherine came into power and made the alliance, the closely crowded in empires of the northern side of the continent were constantly fighting, and there was zero sense of unity. The Codlands and Mythland were almost never not at war with each other, Rivendell and Pixandria were almost completely isolated from the other empires (especially Rivendell), and smaller conflicts broke out all the time.
When Katherine takes over House Blossom in the aftermath of a messy fae civil war, she knows that things need to change. At first she focused a lot on internal reforms, stabilizing her empire and creating wider acceptance of non-fae within her territory. Then, she moved to the most ambitious project in the continents history—peace.
She went about sending out invites to a meeting in House Blossom to every Emperor on the continent that she could get in contact with. The southern empires believed it was pointless and that it would fail, and there was enough of a north-south disconnect that they opted out. Rivendell opted out as well, intending to keep to itself (they had a relatively new and young king at the time, so), and the Lost Empire was still lost and trhe Undergrove hadn’t been formed yet, so they weren’t apart of that original meeting either. Even then, it went surprisingly well, and Katherine began hosting these meetings every month. Fast forward a bit, Katherine finally convinces a (now more experienced and secure in his place as king) Smajor to come to an alliance meeting, and so Rivendell joins the alliance. Later again, the Lost Empire becomes not-so-lost and its new Emperor Joey practically invites himself into the meeting. Sometime later AGAIN (I know), Shrub stumbles out of a portal with the remains of her civilization in tow, and then creates the Undergrove with the protection of the wolf spirits of the forest. When Katherine learns of the Undergrove’s formation, she sends an invite to Shrub as well.
And that’s about where the House Blossom Alliance currently stands, though it started with only six empires (though 8 representatives—the Crystal Cliffs and Grimland were still part of Mythland when the alliance was formed, and only within the last decade and a half have they gained independence), it now stands as twelve empires that are fairly good at solving disputes and keeping the peace. (Of course, Mythland (+the Grimlands) are still getting into fights with the Codlands, but even those conflicts are much milder than they were in the pre-alliance days.)
Essentially: Katherine managed to build peace when literally nobody believed that it was possible. (Of course—when Xornoth originally showed up things went wrong, and once Xornoth got freed from the crystal everyone started panicking—but Joel can handle a traumatized former-demon. Probably)
