when you’re reading fanfic and you come across a line that makes you huff out a laugh, sit back and stare at it, reread it a few times
because its so damn good and you wonder how you stumbled across this absolute gem of writing
the fanfic is called Talk Me Down by Mirrordance btw
Hello! Do you have any favourite works from less known dramione authors that you'd like to share? Or maybe just a oneshot or a WIP that caught your fancy recently and you think more people should read it? I'd love to spread out some more love and support to the smaller dramione creators in the fandom! 💜💜💜
Yes, I absolutely do. It's so important to discuss and promote lesser known writers because they just don't get the exposure, the hype and the fanart which leads to a large readership. I usually post what I'm reading on the 'What are you reading?' thread on reddit and occasionally give roll ups here and mini-reviews on face book, but I can go through my reddit posts and do a longer compilation by genre. It'll take a while but I have some WIPs, some short stories, one shots, some OGs, some longer fics, and if you want I can also throw in a few that are on my TBR.
Reddit, in general, is the best place to find new fics and good recs. The What are you reading? thread always has a good variety where you can discover new authors, and people will periodically make posts asking for underrated fics/authors which I've found immensely helpful.
Also? I found my beta that way. And she's phenomenal. So while I'm making that compilation post - if I may direct you to @bek48's work: https://archiveofourown.org/users/bek_48/pseuds/bek_48
she's got a variety of slapstick humor, horror, mystery, thriller, and adventure. 10 fics. Two long fics, 8 one shots. I've read and enjoyed every single one. Just uh... mind the tags on a few of those. ;) That should keep you busy in the meantime. Enjoy!
Fanfiction authors are not given enough credit.

"Maturity, yes. It is important, but true maturity begins when you stop trying so hard and just let yourself be."

Hullo elf and fairy! Just wondering if you’d come across any good lesser known/newer authors recently? Maybe some who don’t have that don’t have loads of fics posted yet? I just always like giving love to those who don’t get as much as they deserve as well as to encourage them to keep writing as competing with big fic writers in the fandom can feel very scary ❤️❤️ Thank you ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
OMG Anon! This is so sweet of you!
It’s very important to let authors know you loved their work, but with new authors, it motivates them to keep creating and have no fear of showing the Fandom what they can do.
A lot of my favorite “new” writers are my friends here on Tumblr, because I always go message them about how they made me happy, and we keep on talking. One of them is @saltycaramel1394. I read her Big Bang work Chorus in Aurorae and couldnt hold myself to shower her in lots of love. She is awesome and a fantastic writer. She can pass the emotions the characters are feeling to the readers in a way they can easily enter the story as ifyou were there living it. It’s really nice.
Another writer who is my friend today is @kawaiiusagi2. She is the author of two long fics, one of them is Under the cover of Eros and her first work I’ve read. I can tell you she can easily make you want to scream in the middle of the night with her funny puns and great scenes, things you read and think “I can’t believe this is happening!”
Makkachino is a writer that I discovered recently, and when I read her sweet Big Bang work, The crane returns a favor, I immediately had to read her other works. Her creativity to put Yuuri and Victor in the most akward and funny situations is amazing, and her stories are so light and fluid… definitely the kind of works you want to read when you’re looking for something brighter than this awful world we live in.
But the owner of my heart is, no doubt about it, @pro-antagonist. She wrote the first fic I ever read, not only in the Fandom, but in my life, and I fell in love at first sight. The study of characters she makes to write her works make it look like you’re reading a wonderful, emotional, deep, giant meta. After reading Winter Song, you will swear that’s exactly what happened and the anime didn’t show it.
Maybe you saw some of these fics mentioned above a lot on my previous recs, but that’s because they really are very good. I hope you love the authors just as much as I do, and know they are really sweet people (if you ever want to reach them).

Hrm, so I am also going to rec a couple of my tumblr friends who are writers. Lazchan writes a lot of soft, sweet fic and is a delightful person who deserves more love than she gets. I especially love her Ace!Yuuri fic.
I just discovered Lettum’s AO3 and have a couple of hers on my To Read list because they look like such fun.
I really like the way Droewyn writes, it always seems to have a splash of humor to it. And her time-travel fic was really interesting, one of the few I’ve read in the fandom.
Another under-rated author who I have recently discovered myself (a friend of a friend) is Allekha, who deserves far more love. For one thing, they have written one of the fandom’s precious few Mila/Sara fics!
I’m sure there are others I’ll think of later, but these are a few of the ones I could remember off the top of my head!

Juliet Marillier is one of my all time favourite authors and seriously underrated. Her writing is just perfection 👌 Do yourselves a favour if you're a historical fiction and fantasy fan and check out her stuff. Do you have any favourite authors that are underrated?
Kosztolányi truly deserves more attention
