I reckon Mudvayne are horribly under rated. They get chucked on the “just another nu metal band” pile (that entire thing is a bit unfair in itself, nu-metal can be pretty great), even though there really is more to them than that. I firmly believe they’re a prog metal band, especially with Ryan Martinie’s bass playing, and Matthew McDonough‘s drumming. I feel like one of the stand outs on this front is Internal Primates Forever. Everything just meshes so well, and I love it.

I wasn't expecting us to talk much on what I had in my mind, as you hold your breath, as I waste all mine. But we talked forever I held in whatever words made the most sense, which truly I regret. My nights a lie and I'm not doing fine, I'm just not much of a conversation starter.

The Underrated James Murphy

LCD Soundsystem is playing their final show at Madison Square Garden. James Murphy posted a few days ago announcing that new Terminal 5 shows have been added to their closing tour because of issues with scalpers.

"we tried calling our lawyer about the ticket scalping. “it’s legal”. no joke. it’s fucking legal. i tramped around with friends and band getting insane. i wanted to buy some expensive tickets and then track the seller down to beat him. i acted stupid. i did some classic, shakespearean vain “fist shaking”, etc. i made angry tweets. (i’m wondering now what on earth could be less effective and more of a first-world spoiled idiotic move than “angry tweets”? jesus.)" -James Murphy 2/24/00

It goes on a lot longer, a bit of a thoughtful rant. Funny and clever. I'm already dreaming of reunion shows. LCD is one of my top picks for highly underrated bands, even if you've heard them before give them another shot with their final album, This Is Happening.
