Yknow how UT Sans is very,,, secretive, and UT Papyrus is generally considered to be an unknown enigma? Do their underswap mh counterparts have any of those traits? Are they more open? Less?? Do they both know more than they let on?

Also, I find sad that Asriel can never grow up. It's a different kind of tragic compared to undertale, but god, these kids need a break

I hope the immortal gang can somehow fulfil their wishes of aging and passing away naturally, but also I don't have much hopes for it

the bros are indeed still Like That™, just a little different about it!

sans is definitely still a secret-keeper - on one hand he is somewhat more open with people he trusts, and on the other hand he keeps secrets about mundane things like buying ketchup from grillby without papyrus' knowledge. I'd say papyrus is a bit more closed-off because he's not as socially-motivated (plus he'd have significantly less dialogue than his UT counterpart), but his anxiety makes him worse at keeping up a facade around others, so it kinda balances out for him too.

as for asriel's situation, a different kind of tragic is a good way of putting it :''] he does get a happy ending with everyone on the surface at least, but with the way I interpret boss monster aging I don't intend for there to be a way for him to start aging again.

(that being said, this has suddenly made me think what if years down the line, chara, tem and asriel go on an adventure looking for ancient human magic records to see if there are any long-lost spells that could help either of them. not calling that canon but it's a fun thought)

underswap mh's 9th anniversary is less 3 weeks away now huh

although I ended last year's anniversary ask blog event on a "see you next year maybe" note, I've decided I won't be running it this year. for one thing I want to add more askable characters and I have neither the time nor inspiration to work on dialogue sprites right now, but I also think it'd just be more fun for the 10th anniversary next year :] (as much as the thought of my underswap being 10 years old is. Terrifying)

my plan for this anniversary was to try and get that overview post I've mentioned a few times done, but... to make that I need to finish the main cast's overworld sprites, and getting 7 more characters fully sprited in a little over 2 weeks is incredibly wishful thinking 💔

that being said, I'll try my best to have some fun stuff to share for the occasion 🌟

i don't know if you played undertale yellow before but i gotta ask, what would Clover would look like in UNDERSWAP MH?

I mean they'd probably still look pretty dead

this is in my pinned post but I don't mind reiterating it: I did watch a few playthroughs of undertale yellow when it first released, but I didn't play it for myself and I can't say I'm invested in its story or characters. I think clover's cute enough, but the fallen humans have never been a part of undertale that interests me very much and I don't have more of an attachment to clover than any other fallen human designs out there, nor am I interested in making my own designs.

that being said, I do have swaps in mind for the fallen humans purely for the items associated with them! justice is in the role of patience and their items are the faded ribbon (unchanged) and a toy gun (empty gun in place of the toy knife), so feel free to imagine what clover or a justice human design of your choice would be like with those details :]

Would Frisk jumpscare/attack the player in Underswap MH's No-Mercy Route Ending? Or would Frisk do neither of that after Toriel and Temmie die?

they would, but with some differences to UT Chara; Swap MH Frisk is more distressed by no mercy than them (though I'm not an evil Chara believer, I don't think they were okay with it either) on account of the personality my version has and them being a few years younger. but they're stuck along for the ride and powerless to stop it, so after Asgore is killed all they can do is let the LV distance themself from the fear and hurt and resign themself to this path (ie counting down remaining monsters while trying to justify it to themself).

by the time they beat Sans, Frisk is at their breaking point, rushing through Toriel and Temmie's deaths just to finish it already. unlike UT Chara I don't think they know for sure what happens next, whether they'll move onto the next world or be erased with this one, but they've accepted that either way this is the end. so if 'erase' is chosen, they're not happy, but they're relieved that it's over and their attack is just the means of destroying everything.

but if 'do not' is chosen, oh boy are they Not Okay. there'd be no calm 'you must have misunderstood' from them, they just finally break as they can't understand what the point was, their justifications fall apart, and all they can do is lash out at the only one left.

tl;dr less spooky demonic jumpscare and more screaming in despair

(also briefly mentioning this for anyone who might be confused why Sans is still the final boss here - the no mercy route causes him, Papyrus, Alphys and Undyne to revert to their UT counterparts' roles)

Just wanted to come out and say that I REALLY like your take on Napstaton! I love their gauntlets, and I also find them kinda cute. I do NOT like canon Underswap Napstaton, though—they're just Mettaton but a DJ. Plus, they call Chara ‘Broski,’ and that just makes me sick to my stomach.

aaa I’m super glad to hear that! yeah I just cannot see any amount of UT napstablook's personality in how napstaton is usually depicted, it works for a full personality swap but that’s very much not my preference.

the most my napstabot acts like UT mettaton is that they’re able to brave their way through being in the spotlight whenever they share/perform music, but afterwards they have to spend the next 2 to 5 business days laying on the floor to emotionally recover and thus the mtt-likeness is cancelled out

today is underswap mh's 7th anniversary aaaand I have nothing ready for it. I am working on something but it's gonna take at least a good few weeks to finish, and with family health stuff being Very Bad I'm not in the right mental place to do another ask blog event like last year 💔

however I did have a look through the posts from that event to reminisce a little, and in the interest of doing Something today, I'm gonna just reblog a few of my favourite ask responses :'>

So, in Water Under the Bridge (the underswap take by Moonster) Goner Kid is swapped with Ralsei. Is that also the case in your Underswap take?

ooh I'm not familiar with that take but that's a cool swap :0

it's not one I'm using though; an idea I had pretty recently (haven't properly thought it through yet, it is just an idea right now) is that since I leave Gaster unswapped (because there's so little character to work with while Deltarune is incomplete, so until then I'm avoiding committing to any designs or headcanons for him) and most of the fun value events are in some way connected to Gaster, it'd probably make more sense to leave those unswapped too? aside from minor differences like referring to Undyne as the next Royal Scientist instead of Alphys, of course

in this case Goner Kid would remain unchanged, which I like more than making a Goner version of Asriel just for the sake of it when I don't have any inspiration to do so. plus if Temmie had access to some of those events during their resets, the thought of them potentially having encountered Goner Kid is fun :] (for me. incredibly not fun for them)
