A "Monster” From The Surface? (Intro)
“Damn it!” A distressed voice echoed through the mountain range. The morning sun had barely begun to rise above the horizon. A young wolf hurried along the dirt path in the forest. Running as hard as he could through the forest, Chris Hayabusa tried to control his breathing. He was dressed in a gray hoodie with blue sleeves, jeans, and hiking boots, with one missing item. A gust of wind had blown through and took the scarf he was wearing right off of him. He definitely should have made it a tighter fit. Chris quickly approached an incline and was surprised to see that his scarf was being carried along the slope. He had no time to hesitate and think about it so he pushed his limits in his pursuit. His huffs and puffs came out at a rapid pace while he scaled the hill.
At the top of the incline, Chris found the scarf on the ground. Relieved and panting, he picked it up, cleaning it of any leaves and grass that stuck to it. Thank goodness. Chris raised his head to see where he was now and saw that he was standing in front of the open mouth of a cave. While the sun was out, the entrance was close to pitch black. His first instinct was to turn back and just leave, having not intended to come this way. But something made his legs walk forward. Chris could have sworn that his chest was almost being pulled in that direction.
Clutching onto his scarf in his left hand, Chris raised his right, palm open, and a purple flame appeared. It helped him see a little bit better but not by much. The wolf’s eyes slowly examined the cave itself. It was massive and the sheer size of it made Chris feel rather miniscule. As he ventured forth, Chris looked up to see just how far upward the cave went into the mountain. Chris pushed his right hand forward and launched a fireball. The energy traveled upwards for about half a minute before it eventually dissipated. He chuckled to himself, both in amusement and in admiration of this natural creation.
Chris created another flame in his palm but before his eyes could adjust properly, he felt his foot get caught on something on the ground. It wasn’t hard like a rock but it didn’t really matter. Chris found himself stumbling, trying to regain his balance. But it was too late. The next step Chris tried to take was met with no ground. Chris’s body lurched forward as he suddenly felt his body fall through a hole. All Chris could do was yell in fear and clutch onto his scarf in some vain hope that it would save him. Chris wasn’t sure if his eyes were closed tight or that the cave was just that dark now. Whatever Chris could do now, he just hoped that the end result was quick and painless.
