So, the underwater filter:

I do see people curious about users drowning a post... Mainly? Its done to distinguish stuff from the dashboard. Images on here are a “seamless” part of the post, so it was harder to tell what was screenshot. The color palette feature made this a little less of a problem, plus the place really isn’t as buggy as it once was.

The filters were released on the mobile app in early 2019 (If you feel like they were older than that, it might be the gif stickers from 2017.) There are 12 total—some glitches, rainbows, mirrors, etc. Water happens to be the first one… we also love a bit of absurdity.
