When Lucian died right after Selene learned that Lycans had not been the ones who slaughtered her family, Selene did not have to confront her conflicting emotions about an age old enemy who she thought long dead, helping her save Micheal.

So what if Lucian didn’t die. What if Raze injected Lucian with Amelia’s blood or Selene bit him or the First Lycan survived some other way. Now Selene gets to confront those feelings!
