in sum, I’d considered getting dragged back into music writing, against my best judgement, and I did some exploration, but I haven’t found a single thing in the whole world that is music writing that I don’t find terribly full of shit and transparent and undisciplined and mainly just bad writing in general, and I find the institution of Woman Rock Critic* to be, uh, oppressive, and demeaning, and sad, and the whole thing makes me really wanna be a historian for real so at some point I’m gonna apply to grad school
*and the worst joke is that they insisted on stylizing it “female,” good lord
