Peri is a shy and awkward young man who is very pessimistic about everything. He wishes so much to be useful to those around.

Peri specializes in ice and fire magic. He was tuned into ice magic since birth, but learned fire magic from Phoenix Ashe, a leader of a cult he’s in.

No writing today, but I did get to see the lovely Roshani Chokshi at an event today!

I was one of the lucky few that got to do an intimate meet and greet with her before the main event. I guess it was supposed to be a Q&A, but we made it into an open discussion about our current reads, how authors our mostly Slytherins, and movies.

During the main event, Roshani discussed her book and shared part of her writing process. It was so refreshing to finally meet an accomplished author who doesn’t force the story and mainly writes when her characters are present (she says mainly because, well, deadlines). I learned a lot about craft and finding inspiration in the least likely of spaces (down the rabbit hole of Pinterest and other sorted affairs).

She’s hilarious and has grown so much as an author when I first saw her two years ago. I can’t wait to start “Gilded Wolves” and have my heart torn to shreds.
