This is Satellite! He’s a unicronian and also probably one of my only trans characters ;; that’s not a big thing in his story of course cause robot. He has the unique ability to change colors! It’s part of being a scout. Even if he never participated in any war...

He’s a sweetheart who later in life spends most of his time trying to make friends and searching for that supposed special someone..maybe remember his past in his process but he hasn’t exactly found any of those yet...

Unicronian Laws: Cheating

((So with @undeadevil​, we did some worldbuilding before the wedding. And I realized some of this stuff officially for context, as well as expand if needed. Take it away, Ishyotat!))

Thank you, Mun. Okay, first thing we’ll cover is cheating. And I don’t  mean at like games and stuff. I mean if two lovers are together, and one is caught cheating on the other.

Now Unicronian society is very big on unity. Marriage is especially scared, since one is basically baring themselves to the other, binding themselves in the ultimate unity.

So to be caught breaking this ultimate unity? BAD.

The problem with this law is that it’s case-by-case on the severity of the punishment. So I’ll show you some different examples of typical cases/punishments.

If it’s a lover and lover relationship, so not yet married, the relationship is not usually officially severe. Usually the cheater is sentenced to community service for the same amount of time of cheating. A Priest will also be allowed to use his future-sight vision to find the hurt lover a non-cheating boyfriend (it’s not officially supposed to be done, but many will just go ahead and find the lover’s true love). The true punishment in this case is the community. The cheater is always given a hard time during the rest of his/her stay. Usually the offender moves out of town once the community service is paid.

If a married person is caught cheating, then things can get bad. A Priest will instantly help the hurt lover file divorce if it’s not already been done and/or in progress. The severity of the punishment will depend on the case. Example: if it’s a case of cheating and abuse on the other lover, then the offender can be sentenced to the Slimer Level (If it’s severe abuse, execution is an option, but this rarely happens).

Most of the time, the lover is seeing the other around the other’s back, and there’ no real abuse. When this happens, the Priest files the divorce (if not already done or in progress), assigns a certain time of community service, and then the cheater is forced to move to another town/city. The judging Priest will let the local Head Priest know what happened, so the punished doesn’t avoid the punishment. As well, the cheater is severely shunned by community. To what level really depends on the community, but usually it’s very uncomfortable for a long, long time.

What happens to the cheater’s new lover? Good question! So this is more of a community thing. Officially, there’s no real punishment (with the exception of forced cheating, which we’ll cover shortly). Some communities won’t give any pressure at all, some will treat the cheater-lover as miserable as the cheater. Most of the time, the cheater-lover will be given pressure to stay with the cheater. That’s were love and marriage is viewed as the ultimate unity thing.

If the cheater-lover wants to ever leave the cheater, usually community pressure makes the person leave and/or get a Priest involved, since they are illegally making the person stay with someone they don’t want to. This is one of the cases where a person can call an out-of-town Priest or directly to the High Priest for assistance, though this is rare.

What about forced cheating? Example: a Miner blackmails a married Medic to cheat on his Artist spouse. While technically this is cheating probably by your definition, it is considered a form of abuse on Unicron. Because of this, a Priest and/or Guards may be immediately called in for assistance. But if it’s a blackmail case like above, the person may be too scared to do it.

When they eventually reveal the forced cheating, or if someone else reports it, the abuser will be instantly sent to the Slimer Level. This is usually for a much shorter amount of time than other typical Slimer Level sentences, but it depends on the case and the form of abuse used to force the cheater into cheating. As well, the abuser may never return to the town they were doing the forced cheating in.

What happens to the couple in this horrid case? For one, they and their families are moved to another town if the abuser has family or friends in their hometown. Usually the cheater has to go to some sort of therapy, though on rare occasions they don’t.

Then it depends on the actions of the spouse of the cheater. In most cases, the spouse takes the cheater back. On some rare occasions, the spouse will file for divorce. If this happens, the spouse is investigated for cheating. If the investigation comes clear, the couple will go to a few marriage therapy sessions first, then if the spouse still wants divorce (or, ultra rare chance the cheater does too) the divorce is filed. The forced cheater is then given a different lover by a Priest using future-vision. Typically, the spouse is given so much community pressure they then have to leave town.
