Hey, check out my new punk rock ray gun!

Classic vintage Shure PE54 from the Unidyne series; precursor to the modern SM57 (and 58).  This one is HiZ only (most Unidynes are switchable HI/Lo), which is fine cuz I wanted it for use plugging  it in to instrument amps with Hi Z inputs.

As usual, I get the fixer uppers; came with the (pre XLR as standard) Amphenol connector but no adapter cable, so made one one up.  Also when I checked the capsule I noticed that the wires had fatigued and broken from their contacts (they get twisted as you screw it on/off) so had to redo that; extended the leads for ease of maintenance and because with more length to twist it won’t fatigue out again as quick.
