I'm putting it out there now: I believe this is the best new comic to hit the stands in YEARS.
All the information is there, but basically this comic is THE SHIT. And the creators (Ben Schwartz and HaiNaNu "Nooligan" Saulque) are brilliant. I stopped by their booth at Comic Con last year (when the first issue of Union St. Choir just went on sale) and ended up walking away with the comic and several prints. Because the art is THAT COOL.
No, seriously, check it out. I guarantee you've never seen a comic in this style before. And the story? Bomb. Tastic.
I ended up at Comic Con this past summer as well and found them again, almost by luck, and got to talk to Nooligan for awhile about the project and his work. Let me just put this out there: he's the chillest guy around - and certainly one of the most passionate creators I've met at a convention. He loves what he does, and he does it BRILLIANTLY. And he stays true to his artistic style. And in short, I walked away with EVEN MORE prints!
I could go on all day about this project, but really, you should just go check out the kickstarter yourself, because it's worth a look for the art previews alone.
Also, be warned, over the next month this project will be pretty prominent on my blog. Because I really believe it's going to be amazing, and you can help make it happen!
