Bruce adjusted the strap of the messenger bag as he walked toward the bright sign that advertised Ariana’s office. Usually if he was in trouble he went to other people, but this time the trouble seemed like it was closer to something that she would be familiar with. He hoped she wouldn’t find his appearance too off putting. As usual several agencies and people were looking for him due to something or some town his alter ego had broken. A long time ago he’d learned that nobody cared why something had gotten smashed they just wanted him in a cage for it. It’s not that a cage really bothered him, it was the possible experiments on him and making more of him that was the issue. Plus they had yet to build a cage that could actually hold him.
He took a deep breath and knocked on Ariana’s door. It was probably a faint hope that she was in a good mood, but he hoped she was in a mood to help him even though it wasn’t likely he could afford to pay her.
