@unitedleader. finn.
what finn said to her emotional outpouring was the first selfless piece of advice she'd heard in months. once you become a product, it's difficult to know whose input to trust: the head of the label, the head of marketing, the numbers, the fans...it was all very confusing, but what finn had made her realize was there was a voice getting lost in all the noise. her own. and the thought of singing for the sake of singing, without a clear vision of what she wanted to say like she had back in the day in the choir room, was the biggest failure she could have.
a small smile curled upon her glossy red lips, thankful for such a positive influence to keep her grounded. he wasn't bad on the drums, either. actually, he was extremely good. ❝ thanks, i really needed a reminder of that. it's easy to get lost in what everyone else expects of you, you know? but just because it's easy to lose focus doesn't mean i shouldn't try and hold onto it as hard as i can. ❞ that was more of a spoken promise to herself than anything else, but she quickly got back on top of the conversation: which turned out to be really touching, and moving. ❝ as if you could ever let me down. for starters, you're better than all the drummers i saw play in band auditions over three whole months, and, even if you weren't, you're already earning your keep in the role of moral support, so ― thank you, for saying yes. ❞ another grin reflected the warmth of the moment, before curiosity lead her to take a sip off her beer and ask, ❝ what happened in the army, anyway? was it not what you were hoping for? ❞
