Recap from Steven Universe: Warp Tour (S1:Ep37) && The Test (S1:Ep38)
Warp Tour
Warp Tour opens with Steven Universe and the Gems heading back to a warp pad in a field of heart plants. Steven has allergies really bad and Pearl and Amethyst are getting along oddly well, complimenting each other on a job well done. In the warp stream on the way home Steven's allergies led him to accidentally stick his head out of the warp stream where he sees something unusual.
Disbelief
Steven tries to tell the Gems what he saw but they don't believe him and tell him that nothing has been outside the warp stream for a very long time. He continues trying to explain and is unable to sleep that night for thinking of what he saw.
He ends up falling asleep sitting up in front of the door facing the warp pad with his trusty water blaster in case something comes through the warp pad. He is awoken by the Gems offering him cookies. He is exhausted, and Amethyst eats the cookies.
Unconvinced
The Gems finally agree to take him through the warp pad to help convince him there is nothing there. They go to several destinations not finding anything wrong. They end up at the Galaxy Pad where Pearl goes full on SMART*$$ on him and shows him how ridiculous he is being. He, however, is not convinced that he did not see anything.
Droid Warps
Back at home, Steven can't sleep again. A droid falls out of the sky into his house and he attempts to catch it, unsuccessfully, while trying to call the Gems back to see it. During a fight, they crack the warp pad and the droid fixes it and tries to warp off, but Steven jumps on top of it. Steven and the droid both end up warping, but the fight causes them to get outside the warp stream and Steven floats off into the freezing abyss while tens of the droids are flying around nearby.
Suddenly, he is pulled back into the warp stream by the Gems and they end up together on the Galaxy Pad where the droids come and start fixing the warp pads. Then a new Gem appears on the warp pad and is taking measurements and recording her findings. The droid that was fighting Steven is broken a little and the new Gem, Peridot, steps on it. Steven and the Gems see all this while hiding nearby.
Good Bye Peridot
Peridot sees Steven's sticker on the side of the warppad and decides the site has been compromised. She leaves and destroys all her droids in the process. Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst fret about the idea of the other Gems coming back, and Garnet decides to break the Warp Pad to stop it from happening.
The Test
The Test begins with Steven Universe and the Gems gathered in the living room playing a board game. After Steven wins, he goes to the game cabinet to pull out another game to play and finds the Moon Goddess Statue. He talks to the Gems about it and how sorry he is for screwing it up and Pearl accidentally lets it slip that it was only a test.
Failure
Feeling like a failure, he convinces the Gems to give him another test, so they devise a system of tests in the temple where he can prove his capabilities. Once they finish, they open the door for him and he enters Amethyst's giant room. He is on a sloping platform when suddenly a giant spherical boulder comes down the ramp and he has to run away from it.
More Tests
He gets to the door across the room just in the knick of time and the boulder just misses him falling into the abyss. He next enters Pearl's room where he has to put in a musical pattern on the floor to open the stairs, then on the stairs he has to get past giant pendulums and up to the door. He manages it, and enters Garnet's room. He manages to get past the fiery lava coming from the floor but a spiky extrusion comes down from the ceiling and stops just short of hitting Steven.
Steven realizes that the test isn't real and goes back through the other rooms to discover none of the tests were real. Upset and disappointed, he sits on the roof of the test structure and listens as the Gems discuss the test and how it is fake but they just needed to boost Steven's confidence.
Appreciation
Stevven decides it is better for the Gems to believe he went all the way through the tests, so he did and at the end, the Gems await with balloons and cake to cheer for his success. He doesn't tell them that he knows it wasn't a test.
