So, missed y'all last Sunday. . . we couldn't do a live blog, but we did do some reorganizing and redescribing of the blog so that it's easier to find new content. . . and um, that's about all.
Let's see what I can remember from our last episode. . . uh, okay, I don't even remember what it was about. Give me a second to look at my tags.
Ok. Yea. The Intruder. This one was a big one!
So, King decides to enroll Luz in his newly accredited Demons 101 class where she would learn all the most important things about his kind. But Luz has a different lesson she's after. She decides that today is the day she's going to get her mentor to teach her some real magic. Eda, though tired from, um. . . oh, right. . . using her magic to create a shield over owl house to protect it from the boiling rains, decides to give it a shot. She shows Luz a simple light spell. Just draw a circle in the air, and there's the light. Luz, stumped at how it works, asks where the magic comes from. To which, Eda explains it is kept in a sac on her heart? I feel like she had better words for that, but that was 2 weeks ago.
She also mentioned that it's not where witches have always gotten their magic. But since she doesn't know how it used to work, Luz decides to try just recording it so she can recreate it in her own time. Eda, pushed to the point of exhaustion, passes out. Luz and King have to get her to her nest so she can get a good night's rest.
Luz focuses on studying the spell, but King, annoyed at being ignored, decides maybe his quality time with Luz can be helping her with magic, in exchange for a week's worth of Demon 101 classes.
King, having no idea how magic works either, decides that the most likely place for Eda's magic to come from is the energy drink she has every day. He and Luz decide to go take the bottle from Eda's night stand so Luz could get her burst of magic. As they get back downstairs and ready to drink the potion, they are frightened by thunder and drop the bottle.
King tries consoling Luz by pointing out light spells are useless since there's always light. Then, you know, the lights go out. King points out that Hooty controls the lights and probably fell asleep. Then Hooty gets knocked down. . . there's an intruder in the house.
King, having just done some studying up on dangerous demons, is pretty convinced it's that one most dangerous demon. (sorry can't remember its name, but there's a turtle shell involved in its appearance).
They go to make sure Eda is okay since they saw the window break upstairs and the demon go in. But Eda had disappeared. So, uh, they split up? Obvs. . .
King went for his book so he would have more info about the scary demon. But when he returns. . . Luz is gone too.
He finds her shoe in the hallway in front of a closet door and takes her for dead. He opens the closet to find "The Snaggleback". . . again, the scariest of all Demons, a frightened little monkey character with a spiny turtle shell. He starts to yell at the snaggleback for taking his friends, but a hand comes down from the ceiling and snags the snaggle.
And a chase ensues. Luz pulls King into the safety of one of the rooms. Once he relaxes a minute, he notices that on Luz's foot is a tag. When he reads it, he realizes that the potion they stole from Eda was actually an antidote? for her curse.
Okay . . . so my memory is pretty spotty here. There was a balcony and a heart-to-heart about how King doesn't feel like he belongs, and a glitching phone. So Luz figures out how to do magic by writing the rune she sees in the glitched phone image. Then. . . some stuff. . . big rune on the wall. . . King is an expert at demons so dark eyes - light bad.
Look, this recap is already like 10 paragraphs long. And you know. . . the most important bit is Luz cast her first spell, LIGHT. (who would have guessed). Oh. and I saw the code all by myself. We all doing the cool stuff. . . .
*How can you forget a name like "The Snaggleback"? He repeated it quite a bit.*
That flashback was pretty useless too.
