We're Back!

Hey All! Long time, no see!

It's been a long and eventful 3 year unannounced hiatus. And, honestly, we've missed this!!

We have talked about coming back several times, but life in general has just not moved out of our way. We didn't want to come back to BNHA though (bad ending?), so SonBot has picked some fun stuff for us to watch moving forward, and locked me up until I finally post this announcement.

What we've been up to

So much has happened over the past 3 years, hence our disappearance. WeebBot is finishing her freshman year at university. LDBot is going into 8th grade, has been in 2 musicals, is exploring art, and is trying to find their way into the world of voice acting. 2ndBot is still living in New Jersey and working in technical support. SonBot ....

*I haven't been up to all that much. I've been jumping around a lot of fandoms, including some for shows I haven't even watched. Owl House and Amphibia managed to grab my attention strongly enough that I've managed to get off my butt and force GrailBot to start up the liveblog again, difficult scheduling be darned.

As for how deeply I've gotten into them, I have finished both shows, and am currently doing my best to immerse myself in the fandoms. For context on how deeply, you should know that I've gone through the entirety of MoringMarks archive of comics, and am currently blasting through lists of recommended fics for both shows. If anyone has any recs, I'd be interested to hear them.

I know about the "secret codes" found in both shows, as well as what they say, but it should be pretty fun to see GrailBot try to figure those out. She's actually pretty good with codes and stuff.*

I have hung up my dev hat and started my super illustrious career as a technical support dungeon master at a small, fun local company. WeebBot did an internship there last year and 2ndBot works with me and gets to hang out in meetings with me everyday, so that's been a net positive experience.

Names

WeebBot has outgrown her weebiness and LDbot has enough personality to earn their own name. So, we are going to call them MidBot and OnyxBot respectively. 2ndBot is now Oreo Thief. . . apparently. (We'll see if I can remember that.)

Where we're going

So, next week we're starting Owl House. Our current plan is to post every week and to do one season of Owl House, then one season of Amphibia. SonBot has watched both so he's ready for your Asks whenever you're ready to throw them. OnyxBot is excited to be watching with us and has not seen it, but may be spoiled on some. We'll use the same format as before for posting, and try to keep up the chrono links.

Ending

Interesting episode! We got to see and meet new people from, well, everywhere. We got to watch a 3rd year "hero" beat up a bunch of 1st year students in a spontaneously school sanctioned fight. We got to learn about the possible best hero including heroes to take All Might's place. That all seemed a little thrown together, but I'm good so far.

This episode and the last were a bit boring. They felt a bit like 2nd and 3rd episodes of a season. Like the episodes where you are setting everything up after your big hook, not where you are wrapping everything up and giving people something to ponder for the next 8 months while they wait for a new season. But, honestly, since I don't have to wait so long, I'm looking quite forward to what I assume will be the last season of the first year?

If not, I'll just resign to believing these characters are like the Peanuts comics, ever green and never changing.

So, the League of Villains are still recruiting and Sir is tracking Overhaul with his scantily dressed assistant.

This kid looks interesting. I feel like I already said so though.

I guess this is Sir? Now he's even more creepy than just when I knew that was his name.

Also, the girl's uniforms are getting even more ridiculous?

Am I supposed to know who his previous sidekick was? I don't remember that.

But Midoriya seems excited? about it.

Also, no Midoriya. You've already studied with him. Better to diversify your experience rather than repeating what's comfortable.

I did not think this is what Bakugo was going to be yelling about next time we saw him.

How much longer is he on house arrest anyway?

Calling someone Sir like it's their first name is a bit. . . uncomfortable to me.

Poor Todoroki.

I would have tried to fight anyway. Just sayin'.

It sucks that Bakugo had to miss all the fun. This fight would have infuriated him.

He has a very inspirational tone, but could use a bit more in his words. . .

But, I'm sure they are all fired up. I want to do a work study now. It's true that some experience you just can't get out of a classroom, though I'm still not convinced that first year students are prepared for those experiences even with supervision.

I'm also curious about the other "Big Three"s powers. It seems unlikely that two kids that grew up as best friends would both be in the top three. . .

So, I wasn't having any problem reconciling warp and going through walls. . . I do have a problem accepting the "repel" thing though. Like, really?

I find the whole monologuing thing hilarious. Like, Midoriya just told the plan to the class, fair enough, but like. . . everyone else can hear it too, right?

So, work study seems more useful than those internships the class already did. At least there's that.

I'm not sure you had to punch someone in order to make that case but, you know, I'm a bit short-sighted.

That's not it. . . as in that's not all? or as in you got it all wrong?

I'm really confused why this is the path chosen to tell them about work study. But, I guess, it's been like 2 episodes since we saw anyone fight, and like 3 seasons since we saw anyone nude, so whatcha gonna do.

Also, what did he mean "unable to recover"?

How much time did Eraser Head put aside for this presentation on Work Study?

I feel like his class just got hijacked. Worse, it got hijacked like half an hour ago. The whole class has changed their outfits and gone to a different building to fight one of the presenters.

I've taken several speech classes, but I have NEVER heard of this tactic.

This might have gone much better for me.
