Hey dear, listener! Just wanted to say thanks to anyone who likes and reposts music from my page, it actually comprises 3-5% of the notes/traffic I get. I do music postings on my page because I’m an ex-radio deejay. As a matter of sticking to the principles of the craft I try to inform my audience on what they’re listening to. You may not like all the music I post, but you gotta admit, I post stuff you’ve NEVER heard before or anywhere else AND the vast majority of it is GOOD shit. Keep coming back, got plenty more in the deejay booth queued up for the future. I’ve got people listening to my music uploads from everywhere in the world! What a great feeling!
That said, I’ve got the next several days off, feeling good about that, and I just wanted to post a song that I like. Nothing more. This is Astronomer by Form Constant from their album k. What do I know about this band!? Not much! What is this song about!? Don’t know! I just like it because it’s got an upbeat psychedelic-rock sound I’m into, and the more I listen to their stuff, the more I like it. There’s just something about an experimental wall-of-sound noise accompanied by a talented lady vocalist that I find immersive and irresistible. With all the shitty, generic, insufferable, and uninspired mainstream music there is out there these days, it’s my pleasure to devote 1/8th of my page to an underground band from Alabama with eclectic and otherworldly talents and influences. These guys are as unknown as can be, so smash play and let’s make them more famous.

Don’t you love it when music brings people together? Got a little story for you regarding that; I just recently watched a 2003 ‘horror’ movie called Darkness Falls and it was pretty bad… from characters you can’t possibly care about, to predictable jump scares to a dumb story that could have been told much better. I wouldn’t recommend Darkness Falls to my worst enemy, but I’m glad I got to the end of the film, because there was an awesome song by an unknown band called Vixtrola while the credits rolled that was about ten times better in quality than the hour and a half that preceded it. In summary, this is a band that disbanded WHILST producing their first album apparently because of some sort of creative dispute with Geffen Records. And talk about potential, even names like Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) were onboard to produce their first record End:User, which was going to contain this song, Gunboat. And then… nothing. Unfortunately, the members of this duo never achieved a terribly high level of success and they ended up just putting out their one and only album in pieces. You can find their entire full album on YouTube, for free, by clicking this link. When I searched for this song online, imagine my surprise when I realized there were many others out there (thousands) that just like me, made it through a crappy horror film only to be united right afterward in our mutual search for a group that hasn’t existed in nearly twenty years! That is synchronicity! Smash play and enjoy the underground of the music underground.
