Day 07 part 1 of catching up on Costumes.
Time to stay hidden b/c it's time for Camouflage Mama Dodo!
Well it might not be very clear, but this costume was made for the horror game Unknown Tapes. A Dino horror game where you try to sneak around while dinosaurs try to find and eat you. It was difficult but I had fun playing it. Plus any game that combines my 2 favorite things (dinosaurs and horror) gets some brownie points.
This costume I'm pretty disappointed in. I was trying to go for a ghillie suit kinda vibe but instead it looks like Mama Dodo just came out of a pot of boiled spinach. I think if execution was done better it could have turned out okay, but I think the idea behind it is also flawed.
If instead I went the direction of her pretending to be a bush, or even having like a Halloween costume of a raptor that's poorly made, would have been a better/funnier way of approaching the same conclusion in a more creative way.
Definitely a costume that is a learning experience that has and will continue to improve costumes from now on.
So I've only played it for a little while, but if you're looking for a decent dinosaur horror game, Unknown Tapes is 100% worth the $15 it's going for on Steam right now.

Next up on Halloween gaming is Unknown Tapes. Which is a sweet little gem of an indie horror game inspired by Dino Crisis and definitely a pinch of Jurassic Park in there.

You're a young journalist with a potato-quality camera investigating a research facility that has gone dark, and is apparently now infested with dinos.
The sound effects are amazing, and you're doing yourself and the game a disservice if you don't play with headphones.
Loved the lo-fi analog visuals. and maybe it's because I'm also playing the Silent Hill 2 remake right now with my old man, but I loved the old-school map-finding/navigation and code/key puzzles, simple enough as they were. Proper survival horror rituals right there.
There were a handful of jumpscares in this game that really got me, and I mean startled me enough to shout 'fuck me!' at my computer. Took a few hours to complete, and overall enjoyed it! Dinos are not standard horror fare, so I consider this one a bit of an unusual pick and well worth your time if you are so inclined :3
