I’ve been having a lot of fun over the last couple weeks doing playtests of Maze of Minos by @IonQuestGames ( #unpub ) with friends and family. There’s talk of a Kickstarter at some point this year, and I very much look forward to hearing what others have to say about it!

Unpub 2025

Unpub Festival 2025 starts this Thursday (March 27) and runs through Sunday, March 30th in Linthicum Heights, Maryland. Unpub is a fantastic event where you can playtest your games, playtest games from other designers, attend seminars/workshops, and meet people who are passionate about game design and tabletop games. The Game Crafter is happy to sponsor Unpub each year and provides assorted board game pieces and blank prototyping components. These resources are helpful for game designers when they want to iterate on their game designs or create new game ideas while at Unpub. Have fun!

2025 Unpub Mentorship Program

The Unpub Mentorship Program connects members of the tabletop community in one-on-one mentorships, carefully matching experienced mentors with mentees looking to expand their knowledge and skills. After the application and matching process, mentors meet regularly with mentees over a three month period. Mentors are available in a variety of fields, including (but not limited to) game design, self-publishing, production, marketing, and other skills specific to tabletop games.

There is no cost to the Unpub Tabletop Mentorship Program, though mentees are highly encouraged to give back to the community by becoming mentors themselves. Unpub particularly encourages members of marginalized communities to apply in order to provide diverse viewpoints to the tabletop games space.

Unpub 2024 started yesterday in Towson, Maryland and runs until Sunday, March 17 at 6pm. Playtester badges available so head over if you're in the area. This is a great event to playtest your own games and try out games from other designers.

UNPUB started on Thursday and runs until Sunday at 9pm. 2 days of gaming to go! The event is in Hunt Valley, Maryland and there are still some tickets available if you are in the area. UNPUB 2022 - Happening Now!

The Unpublished Games Festival is happening right now at the Delta Hotel in Hunt Valley, Maryland. It's their first in-person convention since 2019. It runs until 11:45pm on Sunday.
