I read a lot of taxonomic papers and learning about new bugs and how to identify them is great and wonderful but a true underrated part of the experience is picking up on the subtle passive aggression between taxonomists who clearly don't like each other very much. somehow I’ve reaaaally ingrained the word прыгажуня (“beauty” descriptive noun) into my brain so I’ll just see a pretty woman and think she’s a прыгажуня sometimes before I think beautiful or pretty in swedish or english and this happens w random words a lot? like random words in languages i’m learning go straight into my spine and sometimes come faster than words from my native languages...why...
