people who say Subaru isn't a pervert clearly have never seen half of his content 🗿 imo all the brothers are in a way.
I find it difficult to define ‘pervert’ because it honestly depends on the context as well. :/ Are we going by real life standards, then yes, all the boys are ‘perverts’ to a certain degree. Because being a teenage/being hormonal doesn’t really excuse their behavior lol.
If we’re going by DL universe standards, then Subaru may seem pretty tame compared to some other characters. :p
Sheesh! Mom Gem, I'm scared to even look at Subaru-kun... I feel like if I even glance at him for a split moment he'll just punch me ;;
Subaru : Good guess, Asker.
Mom Gem, whispering : The trick to a good "Subaru Safari" is to hide yourself behind really cool sunglasses ! (・ω<)☆
Tell us about Draven’s mom, I’d like to know
Man, she was great. She grew up in Mexico until she was about 16, and then she got restless and left home with her brother, who had a job and met his wife up in the States. She was crazy intelligent but absolutely hated standard academic learning, said it bored the tits off her, so she read a lot of books (I'm talking over 100 a year) and worked loads of random jobs until she got bored, and then she'd do something else. She saved a fair bit of money doing this and started travelling, much like I was doing -- hitchhiking to nowhere to see what happened. That's how we met, and we'd frequently go about together. Other times we wouldn't see one another for months, but whenever we met again it was like no time had passed at all.
She was funny as hell, always had a joke or a comment on everything. She actually did a bit of stand-up comedy and she was great, probably could have made a career of it but she hated the idea of only doing one thing. She wrote, painted, played guitar. She was a poet and a songwriter. She could make friends with anyone, I mean she'd meet someone and two minutes later they'd be laughing like old friends. She felt everything so deeply, cared about others, and she'd get so mad at things she didn't think was fair. She used to lecture me about it, me being so cynical and wanting to just say well that's life; she was the one who pointed out that yeah, it was, but wasn't that fucked up? Genuinely the sort of person who makes you want to do better.
Every second of life was an adventure for Mónica. She loved every damn moment wildly and unashamed. She was the most fearless person I've ever met. When she got her diagnosis she was so calm and then on the drive back she pulled over to the side of the road and got out and screamed and screamed. Then she got back in the car with a big smile and said she'd got it out of her system. I didn't see her falter once after that. She carried on living life just as wildly and she died smiling, listening to us all laughing as we shared stories about her. About as perfect a death I've ever seen, if not for the fact it was happening decades too soon. Mónica got it right every second of her life.
Draven is so much like her. Fearless, committed, excitable, always wanting more. Easy to laugh and full of love for everyone and everything. He has her sense of humor and when he laughs too much he goes silent and flails his hands just like she does. It's a damn miracle to see him but I miss her like hell.
Sorry but I can already tell some shady anons are gonna take this yaoi discussion thing further and cause drama here with their words and I really wouldn't want this to happen in a blog as wonderful as Vee's, so I say we just conclude this discussion by saying that everyone has different opinions and we should respect them.
That sounds like a good idea, to be honest. I basically said everything I wanted on the topic anyway. uwu
I would share the academic paper I wrote on the impact of BL/Yaoi manga on the LGBTQ+ community in Japan and how Japanese society views/treats people who belong to that community, but it’s written in Dutch soーー :p
