Tumblr is not a dharma source
I have to say - there are so many wonderful dharma quotes.
Its counterbalanced with many false statements with a picture of buddha - someone's mis-understanding.
You really need to take it easy - dharma is all of experience, it is teachings, phenomena. Yet it is meant to be used to share authentic experience - that means it may lose it's meaning when a student decides to share it. That student may imply, use out of context or share the wrong thing with the wrong audience.
Buddha said a lot of different things, at different times to people at different stages of the path. Not everything is meant to be shared, it is freely offered but usually as part of a guided study. Not just random inspired quotes ... be careful. Study with a teacher.
I am a monk, and i write poems, i take photos and i don't call it all dharma. It might be coloured with my experiences, it might be contemplations that draw on the dharma but i want it just to be my shared blog and not act like it is coming from Buddha or that i am some authority. That is what i have learned - we can write, share, create but we shouldn't abuse Buddha and put words in his mouth. Some of the things are extreme and might have the effect of confusing or causing people to reject the dharma ... can you really accept that responsibility?
I think expressions of dharma will always be there for the Tumblr people who train in dharma and see it. I think beautiful images of nature and Buddhist art that inspires ... the sky is the limit. I hope you don't become one of the Tumblr fake dharma sources in your enthusiasm -- may you all be happy, safe, well and check what you are doing.
