“James, stop messing around. We need to get everyone together,” Regulus chastised his boyfriend, who was still being attacked by a bat-bogey as he desperately clung to the wooden beam above them. Regulus pointed his wand at James, and to his credit, James didn’t flinch, just tried to hold still while Regulus cancelled the hex and lowered him to the ground.
“Hi, love,” James beamed at him, leaning in for a kiss. Regulus allowed him that. He always had time for a kiss from James.
“What’s going on, baby brother?” Sirius asked, cancelling the few spells still bouncing around the room. Regulus noticed he didn’t cancel the bouncing charm on the sofa, though.
“Pandora has seen something. Go get Remus and Peter. We need to start training immediately.” Sirius didn’t hesitate and took off up the spiral staircase, returning with Remus and Peter a few moments later.
The Gryffindors, still in the common room, watched them suspiciously. When the marauders suddenly stopped messing around and began whispering together, it usually wasn’t a good thing for anyone in their vicinity. The Marauders followed Regulus out of Gryffindor Tower, and their fellow housemates breathed a sigh of relief.
They hurried along to the seventh-floor corridor, and a simple wooden door appeared. When they entered, they were surprised to see a huge room with all sorts of duelling training apparatus.
“Lesson one,” Pandora began once the door was closed and they all fell in line before her. “Expelliarmus,”
