Screaming into the void but
I properly used my cane for the first time today – a premiere if you will
Like, first time I actually walked a decent stretch with it (after I carried it with me since the beginning of June; just having it on my backpack and knowing it’s there already gave me a sense of security)
It wasn’t necessary per se but my knee was uncomfy and it was either cane or support bandage, soooo
My other knee is in a support compression today, so that leg is taken care of
I’m still getting a hang of pacing/ syncing the cane to my steps
But I only stumbled a few times on the ~1.2km I was walking with my cane
And I’m feeling kinda proud for just going for it, because I’m still anxious about people judging me over my cane/ accusations I don’t need a mobility aid
Mr. Gold from Once Upon A Time uses a cane.
Me, crying from pain and staggering around the house: everything hurts, and I can barely stand. I think I may have one of a few things, and really need to be checked out for them. // Housemate, who has my medical card: you're fine, you need to move more, rather than stay in bed all day.
Translation: Moving is good for me, so it has to be good for you! What do you mean, I should get my sorry rear moving out that door right now? I’m a ‘good friend’, because I totally listen to what you’re saying about your own health. No, wait, I don’t, because I’m about as considerate as a rock! Imagine that.
