I love that for most of the book (from Robespierre's pov, at least) he doesn't really seem all that aware that he's grown incredibly powerful, or that people are, like, actively terrified of him, except when the Hébertists from the commune arrest Camille's father in law, and are threatening to arrest Camille, and he gets this really sudden, vengeful vibe of THEY WILL REGRET THIS.
