shiro and adam
no one talks about shiro and adam enough even though they’re so AHHHHHHHH and so fucking tragic man
like, what do you mean one of if not their last conversations was an argument? what do you mean adam thought shiro died? and probably lived with so much regret and guilt about their last moment, wishing that they never argued and wishing that he had convinced shiro to stay.
and then, adam finds out shiro was still alive, but millions of lightyears away in space, risking his life again but for the purpose of protecting people. and adam hopes, hopes that maybe just maybe shiro will come back home to him.
until he dies in one of the first attacks, and realizes that he really will never see shiro again.
and then shiro comes back with the hope that adam is there waiting, but finds out that adam really wouldn’t be there when he got back. finds out the adam was gone. and neither of them got to say goodbye. feeling just as much guilt as he did stuck in the galra prison, as he did light years away in a separate solar system, as he did when he fought zarkon and disappeared. because no matter how hard he tried to survive, he still couldn’t get back to the love of his life.
