MOTHER: Rose Edwards (née Parsons)

Jordyn doesn’t know her mother since she passed away when Jordyn was only two years old. She only knows her mother through the stories her father tells her.

FATHER: Lucas Edwards

These two are two peas in a pod. They are the only family they’ve got really and are extremely close. They are open and honest with each other and do everything together. It’s because of Lucas that Jordyn got into cooking or anything that she enjoys actually.

SIBLINGS: None

Lucas never remarried after Rose passed away and they didn’t have any children before Jordyn.

CHILDREN: None

Jordyn is focused on her future and her goal to become a five star chef and owner of many restaurants. She does want kids but that’s way in the future.

OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS:

Jordyn vaguely remembers her grandparents but all of them passed before she was ten. Rose was an only child and so is Lucas, their parents were the only family they had. The employees at her father’s restaurant are practically extended family though.

PAST LOVER(S):

Jordyn has never had a boyfriend. Anytime she was asked out on a date she freaked out and came up with some excuse to not go.

CURRENT LOVER:

Jordyn is single and hasn’t found anyone that has caught her eye, not that she is looking to begin with.

MEETING NEW PEOPLE:

Jordyn loves everyone, which can make her a little naive when it comes to meeting new people. She always thinks the best of others and believes that no one could be mean just to be mean.

WORKING WITH OTHERS:

Growing up with her father’s restaurant being a second home has taught her what it means to work with others. The kitchen is one unit, everyone must flow together. She has learned from her father’s leadership how to work with others, whether it be a team member or the team leader, she can play both roles.

SOCIAL LIFE:

Jordyn isn’t afraid to go up to someone and just strike up a conversation, especially if that someone looks lonely or sad. She loves to try to make people feel better.

FRIENDS:

Jordyn makes friends with everyone she meets, even when they want nothing to do with her she keeps her friendly persona and doesn’t know when to quit. Her childlike, positive personality hinders her when it comes to realizing that no everyone is a friend or wants to be her friend.

PETS:

She has a golden retriever she named Rose back at home.

LEAST FAVORITE PEOPLE:

Again, Jordyn loves pretty much everyone. The only kind of people she has come to realize she has a slight dislike for, are the ones that don’t know that no means no.

MOM: Branwen Collins

Branwen is the stricter parent of the Collins family. Whereas Ephraim would allow his kids to do pretty much anything, Perry’s mother made sure they all got good grades, they all participated in school activies and were productive, instead of just laying around on the beach all day. She inspired the same drive that her and her husband both have in their kids, so they’d all go onto great things instead of just bumming off their parents.

DAD: Ephraim Collins

Perry’s father is a state of the art music producer who is a bit of a hippie himself. He’s always super laidback with his kids, the first one to give them weed or alcohol, figuring if they got it at home, they’d at least know how to handle it and not get into any trouble. He’s a big surfer, and the reason Perry has her passion for both the ocean, and music. They’re best friends, and have a special bond that allows them to joke around and always have a great time together.

SIBLINGS: Isaac Collins, Yael Collins

Perry is the oldest of the 3 Collins kids. She’s protective of her two younger siblings, especially her sister Yael, and they are all extremely close.

Perry has had flings, but nothing serious. She’s not the type of person to date just to be dating someone, or waste her time on someone she doesn’t seen a future with.

REACTION TO MEETING SOMEONE NEW:

Perry treats everyone the same, whether she’s known them for 5 minutes or 5 years. She’s laidback, she’s straightforward, she’s honest, but she’s not going to be a bitch. She just goes with the flow and isn’t afraid to get into conversations about deep shit, because otherwise what’s the point?

ABILITY TO WORK WITH OTHERS:

Not very good. Perry is extremely laidback, which can frustrate a lot of people. In other ways, she’s very smart, with an eidetic memory, and has a hard time expressing that or explaining things, so it can be hard to work with her.

HOW SOCIABLE(LONER,ETC):

Perry’s happy no matter what - she can be alone, she can be in the middle of a crowd, and she’ll make it work. 

FRIENDS:

Perry’s friends with everyone, until she’s not.

Perry loves everyone - she’s a hippie and everyone’s the earth child and has their own pros and benefits to them and things to love and things like that.

Perry doesn’t hate anyone, per-say, but she gets frustrated with people who are extremely high- maintenance since she is so the opposite.

Summer Plans || Self Para || Task #005

TAGGING → Astra Esser, her father, and her future boss.

LOCATION → A cafe in NYC

TIME FRAME → Tuesday, July 7th

Basically I’m going to be on vacation sometime this summer and I’m just going to be basing Astra’s internship around that so I can explain her absence from the dash.

Also, I’m still keeping Izaya part of her past plot bc her chara was too effected by him to just drop all of it all-together.

Astra quietly tapped her cup impatiently as she waited for the people who were joining her. 

“Sorry, I’m late, honey.” Her father smiled warmly to her as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. “Traffic was awful. He not here yet?”

“It’s cool dad. No, he’s not here yet.”

“You nervous?” He asked curiously with a little smile. 

“Not too bad. Should I be?” She asked with a laugh.

“No, no. You’ll do great.” He shook his head as he reassured her. “I just know that it’s been a hard semester for you...”

“Dad...” She trailed off, not wanting to get too much into it. 

“No, no. It let me get this out. I know we haven’t talked a lot about it, but I don’t want you to bottle things up. You used to tell me everything, and now that you’ve gotten older things have been weird. Anyways, I know that everything has been weird with Noah with the gala... and that other young man that moved away-”

“His name was Izaya, dad, and I’m fine.”

“I know seeing people you care about leave isn’t easy though.” He kept his told a little stern so Astra wouldn’t just brush it off. She simply sighed and looked back down to her coffee. “Did you like him, or something?”

Astra bit on her lip and shrugged. “I really don’t know. Even if I did, I know that I need to focus on getting my career started. It’s nothing that I’m going to stress over.” She now picked at a straw wrapper on the table anxiously. 

Mr. Esser forced a smile and nodded his head. “It’s okay for things to not be fine though. I really hope you know that.” 

Astra ignored his comment and used her seeing her possibly-hopefully boss walking into the cafe. “Mr. Saito is here.” She muttered before putting on a strong smile and looking over to the man. Her and her father both stoop up and respectfully greeted him.

“Sorry for the delay. We were caught in traffic on the way here.” He was an older Japanese man who was the COO of his company. Astra had her father to thank for the connection she had to him. They had worked on a large-scale project together for a business merger.

Astra stood up for the men out of respect. “Oh, no worries at all. We weren’t waiting for long.” She reassured as she shook his hand, although she had been there for nearly forty-five minutes. 

“Well let’s get to business, since I’ve kept you waiting.” He said with a smile. The three of them sat down, and their attention was on Mr. Saito. “Are you still interesting in the internship this summer?” He asked with a raised brow.

“Yes, sir. Very interested. I really believe that I’m prepared for it as well.” Astra was charismatic enough to rock most interviews she went to, but she couldn’t help but feel nervous about this one.

“You understand that it because it’s in Japan that you’ve got to be decently skilled in the language. Not necessarily fluent. I don’t want to completely intimidate you.” He chuckled trying to keep the tone light. “You’ve definitely got to have a decent grasp.”

“This semester I’ve really focused on learning the language. I even had a Japanese friend help tutor me, so I understand a little bit more of the dialect. I feel like I’m ready.” She nodded confidently.

“Lovely,” the man grinned widely to her. “On my account, you’re ready to go. Joseph's really saved my ass in the past, and I could only imagine that he’s raised someone who can be just as attentive to detail as he.” He smiled to her father for a moment before looking to her again. “I do have to ask you to stop by the office though. They’ll just make sure you’re completely up to par with the language and you’ll be ready to communicate with people there. Although my secretary said that she’s seen your college transcripts and your linguistics test and said you sounded remarkable. I’m sure it’ll be a breeze for you.” He shifted in his seat for a second before continuing. “As far as details  of the internship goes; you’ll be in Japan for about two or three weeks. The company will provide airfare and an apartment for you to get settled into. You’ll be doing mostly paperwork, but they may throw you in front of one of our low scale clients to see how well you can sell whatever pitch they have for you.”

Moving Forward → Self-Para

Carson woke up to the smell of dinner being made. He wasn’t exactly too sure how he fell asleep all day today, especially at his apartment. He hasn’t been here since the night that he brought Nora over for the date. His hands rubbed his face and yawned. His cousin, Liliana, was in the kitchen. They both had an agreement that she would be staying here for the summer to help her rediscover herself or some bullshit that he didn’t really understand. 

“Oh, look who’s awake. Glad that you could join me from the land of the dead, it must have been one hell of a journey.“ Carson rolled his eyes at his cousin’s sarcasm. To him, it honestly didn’t suit her mainly because Liliana was known to be a sweet girl on campus. "Shut up, Lils. Being sarcastic is unbecoming for you, and you know it.” His cousin’s laugh filled the room and he could only smirk.

“Then no pot roast for you, and I know that this is your favorite.” As if it was on cue, his stomach growled at the mention of pot roast. He knew that he would do anything for this meal. He pretended to lock his lips and throw away the key like a child would. Liliana gave him a certain look before she shook her head. She plated the food with the pot roast that had potatoes and carrots. She added mashed potatoes on the side and ladled the gravy from the slow cooker on top the potatoes. “This looks amazing. Thanks, Lils.” Carson dug into his food.

Once he had cleaned off his plate, he downed his water and took his plate to the sink. “You cooked, I’ll clean,” he offered. Liliana nodded her head. “So what does the mighty man of this apartment plan to do for the summer?” The dirty blonde groaned at her question because his father asked the exact question the other day. “I’m interning at my dad’s rival’s office and he fucking hates me for it.” He had a total fight with good ‘ole Kent Goldwyn the other day. He told his son that he would learn nothing from that son of a bitch. But his professor had gone out of his way to get Carson this internship. It wasn’t like he was going to completely betray his father’s company. Liliana shook her head. “You know, have you spoken to you dad in person? Or like tried to reach out to him?” He knew that she was right, but he just wasn’t in the right headspace to be doing all of that. “I honestly just want to start this internship and show him that I won’t falter from the Goldwyn name.”

That was the absolute last thing that he wanted to do. This was just so he could get experience from outside of the company. He didn't want his life to be only about Goldwyn Banks, he wanted to make sure that he had perspective. And this was his opportunity for that. He just needed his father to understand.

Hana rolled from one side of the bed to the other. The clock on her nightstand read 10:37 and a groan left her mouth. She ran a hand over her face before sighing. Her dealer had come over earlier in the evening to smoke a new strain of pot he got from Colorado, and who was Hana to say no to free pot? After a few moments, she finally moved from the bed to the floor and to her closet so she can change. She stuffed her laptop into her backpack, threw it over her shoulder, and left her dorm for the evening. 

Entering the coffee house, Hana waved to the employees behind the counter. They had come to recognize her after the first few times she went to write. She logged onto her Wordpress, something she hid from her friends. Writing had become an outlet that she enjoyed and she managed to get the thoughts that raced through her head out once and for all. She clicked on the New Post tab and got comfortable. 

June 5th, 2016

Summertime and the livin’s easy. At least, it is until summer classes start. That’s right, folks. I’m taking summer classes this year which means no Florida for me until August. Unless I manage to wiggle out of classes for a week or two to visit home. Which might or might not happen depending on the money situation.

As for job opportunities this summer, I’ll probably keep doing what I’ve been doing. And you all know what that means: a friend with weed is a friend indeed. Interpret that however you damn well please because it could mean a few things. That reminds me, shout out to Carlos. He’s the bomb dot com for coming over before.

The city should be a fun time in the summer. I’m going to explore the different landmarks and take the subway everywhere. Even if I get lost, I’ll be happy. Manhattan is amazing and I can’t wait to walk every inch of it this summer. I bought a film camera at some thrift shop a few months ago too, so I’ll be able to capture my adventures and share them. I just need to find a place that sells the correct film. And somewhere to develop them since the photography floor in the art building is a fucking maze and a half. 

On that note, I think that concludes this post. To sum it all up for you: I’m staying in the city for the summer, I have summer classes, and I plan on getting lost throughout the boroughs for fun. Let’s hope I don’t get killed on the subway or something,
