Worried about being LGBT+ at university? Jamie has some advice for anyone starting uni this month.
you wouldn’t have gained a place at Nottingham if your admissions tutor didn’t think you were up to it
you’re not the only one who may feel that they’re not good enough to be at university.
Read Laura’s blog and feel better about starting uni.
Welcome to The University of Nottingham! Here's your essential guide to help you settle in and get your bearings.
Your first term at uni doesn’t have to include Freshers’ flu! The University of Nottingham Health Service (UNHS) have put together some advice to help you stay fit and healthy when you join us as a student. Before you arrive Bring a small well stocked first aid kit with you that includes: Simple analgesia – such as Paracetamol or Ibuprofen ...
If you read and follow the advice of this blog you WILL avoid Freshers’ flu this year! *
*You might not, but it’s worth a try right?
Joining us next month? Here’s what you can look forward to...
I recently became a postgraduate student at the @uniofnottingham to fulfil a long-anticipated dream of completing a MSc in a subject I'm passionate about. I'll be continuing to create my illustrated cards and gifts alongside my academic journey. I've been familiarising myself with my new surroundings (with a pen and sketch pad in hand, of course) and I've been delighted with how pleasant the university campuses are - you could almost forget you're in a city! They're teeming with wildlife especially of my favourite feathered variety - geese, swans, ducks and moor hens to name a few! Here is a little sketch I did of the Students Union @uonsu - with the resident geese! #uonfreshers #nottingham #beastsofuon #maturestudent #wildfowl (at University of Nottingham)
The University and @uonsu represent a diverse community of students, we should all treat each other with respect.
If I'm living in catered halls is it better to bring washing up powder or can you bring the tablet things?
Hi! Washing tablets should be fine. You can also buy washing liquid in the laundry room, but you’ll probably save money if you bring some with you.
