Well this was one of the most ambitious and time-consuming projects I've gotten myself into in a while. Just like all my projects I learned new things to take into doing the next one. I mostly happy with the results. It's all cross stitched onto an existing up- cycled shirt.
I wanted to use up the scraps from my sewing projects somehow so I made these cute MLP themed wrist band pin cushions. They are made of up-cycled scraps minus the elastic and puff paint.
I'm only making these as I have scraps and won't be repeating any designs. But I also am not really sure how much I want to charge for them? Obviously not the best quality or anything as each one took only 30-ish minutes of labor. But if you see one you want or have a theme/design that you would snag up in the future, hit me up!
the long awaited day has come. I finished upsizing these black denim jeans with some beautiful embroidered tulle that I found on a dress I thrifted. I am so very pleased with the outcome; especially since this is my first major project!!!!!
look at how cute and flowy 🥹
💕 very much pleased with myself 💕

So the hotel throws away a ton of bedding. I’m going to attempt to turn some of these duvet covers into dog beds. This is my first attempt. Now to tie dye and stuff.
It’s about time I put my sowing machine to some use.
I’m annoyed that I posted and uploaded an update yesterday via my iPhone and it didn’t show up on Tumblr. Anyway, the final result exceeded my expectations despite the colors being not quite right ... it worked out pretty darn good!
I am going to try and copy this to the longer dresser with some variation. That will be project # 2. Still not THE project, but an important one.
THE project is the largest and tallest dresser that I really want to paint in Annie Sloan’s Emperor’s Silk - a true, vibrant red. I expect that to be a tough one.
Day time - natural light
As a reminder, this end table was done using:
- Napoleonic Blue
- English Yellow
- Clear wax
- Annie Sloan brushes
- the wash is where I missed the mark on the top and sides. The drawer was done by myself and a designer (mostly the designer as I took copious notes) during a chalk paint demo. I feel I missed the mark when I was on my own.
- I switched over to painting the inside of this end table with a solid color. I mixed equal one part of Napoleonic Blue to equal one part of English Yellow. I thought it was “muddy” at first but as it dried (2 coats) and after applying the clear wax and letting it begin to cure, the result is pretty darn acceptable.
I polished up the brass pull knobs --- in ketchup of all things! An hour “soak”, a good rinse, and voila!
Brass once more!
I moved it out of the bedroom and to the living room where there is far better light and the colors really pop.
