This was maybe the coolest moment I've ever experienced, of course a video can't come close to doing it justice. The ground started shaking before #up844 even got to us, and then it felt like a city block was passing at 50 mph. It sucked wind past me and I accidentally screamed because it was so much to absorb. Try to picture that those wheels are taller than I am, and I was about 6 feet away from it. Historical background: Union Pacific 844 was the last steam engine ordered by the Union Pacific Railroad, in 1944. It is also the only steam engine in the United States that has never been retired.
