Inspired by the Jonas Brothers album Greetings From Your Hometown, this series transforms each song into a story that lives and breathes on the page. Every lyric becomes a scene, every melody a memory. These are stories of quiet mornings and sleepless nights, of falling in love under streetlights and losing it in the silence that follows. They are about the ache of what lingers, the sweetness of what could have been, and the fragile hope of starting again.
Told with cinematic detail and raw emotion, each chapter feels like a song unfolding into a life. Where do I begin??
Playing with Music
I've decided that I just want to have fun with music and make it for enjoyment of the process! Renouncing expectations on how it might be received has helped me slowly open back up to art.

Recently, a family member 3D-printed a violin and gave me one of their prototypes - I love it! It sounds hollow and artificial compared to my high school violin - I look forward to recording them together and playing with their differences!
Creative Decisions in this Cover
I went for something higher-energy, sound quality inspired by lofi and y2k-nostalgia, and my favorite bleeps!
This track was great practice for recording, editing, and layering vocals. I'm not a great singer - but fortunately, a little autotune feels right at home for my style! The "bada daba" backing vocals just felt right ^_^
I changed some subtle lyrics from the original to tell a slightly different story:
I liked the idea that the singer got a tattoo of her ex; a reference to the mark left on her heart, not sure how she got there in the first place.

I aimed for a lower, femme vocal that also aims to re-contextualize the line "there's a woman to blame" to be in reference to both of them; first the ex, and eventually, the singer.
Importance of Margaritaville
All of the songs in my love letters releases are just that - love letters to the music that has inspired me over the years.
I won't get into the cultural impact of this song, because I'm sure it's been covered plenty before.
This was a song my parents, aunts, and uncles loved so much that it became a frequent guest in car rides, vacations, and hot summer days at home.
In particular, my Uncle Joe - he passed earlier this year - loved this song and Jimmy Buffett. I always admired my uncle because he lived his life on his own terms - he knew what made him happy and he lived a life aligned with his values. I started working on it before he passed, but I never got to show him. I like to think the parts of him that lives on might enjoy it, though. Rest in peace.
