KANEKURO : Siap Menginvasi Negeri Jiran !

Kanekuro adalah unit Surf/Post Punk dari Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. Terbentuk pada bulan September 2018. Pada awalnya dengan formasi 3 orang yaitu Andre pada bass & vokal, Bernard pada gitar dan Rio pada drum. Materi lagu-lagu Kanekuro berpengaruh pada musik era 80an dan 90an, membuat kombinasi pada post punk sebagai akarnya dengan aransemen modifikasi musik surf dan pop serta juga menggunakan vibrasi yang menyenangkan tapi gelap dan sedikit sentuhan horor.

Pada bulan Mei 2019, Kanekuro merubah formasinya dengan menambahkan instrumen Synthesizer yang dimainkan Andre merangkap sebagai vokalis yang sebelumnya berposisi sebagai Vokal merangkap bassist, dan memasukkan personel baru yakni Gesta pada posisi gitar, Ginting pada posisi bass dengan materi yang lebih gelap. 

Tak lama setelah terbentuk, tepatnya pada bulan Februari 2019 mereka melepas Extended Play (E.P) yang dirilis oleh Skullism Records yang bertajuk Inky. Sebagai promo EP mereka, Kanekuro berencana melaksanakan mini turnya di negeri Jiran, Malaysia yang bertajuk “Pillgrim” to Jiran.

Mini tur “Pilgrim” to Jiran akan diadakan selama 3 hari yakni pada 26 Juli 2019 hingga 28 Juli 2019 di 3 titik berbeda. Destinasi tur pertama yang mereka yaitu di Dream Projects Hall  yang juga akan disupport oleh band lokal Glass, destinasi kedua tur Kanekuro akan diadakan di Intunnation yang akan disupport oleh band lokal Death Becomes Her, DèFusion, dan Lust, dan destinasi tur terakhir Kanekuro yakni pada Creative Festival “RIUH” yang akan diadakan di The Gasket Alley. 

Kenekuro berharap rangkaian mini tur “Pilgrim” to Jiran ini dapat membantu mereka untuk mempromosikan dan memperkenalkan musik khususnya EP perdana mereka lebih jauh lagi. Selain itu mereka juga berharap tur mereka bisa memperkenalkan skena musik Indonesia khususnya Bali lebih luas lagi hingga ke mancanegara.
