I FIGURED OUT A WAY TO STILL GET ONTO DIRECT POSTS ON BLOGS.
And since I’ve seen that many people seem very annoyed with this new feature of just directly transporting you to the beginning of someone’s blog when clicking a post, instead of letting you go to that post, which... also includes making the “prev” tag entirely useless because you can no longer click onto the user someone reblogged a post from to check that post on that person’s blog, I figured I’d post the way to work around it.
Obviously it’s not as easy as it used to be, but it’s steps I’m willing to take because I actually prefer and like to be able to do this.
The three button menu on every post pops open some options and - usually if it’s not your own post, set right at the top, and just above the terrifying “unfollow” option - is the “Copy link” option. Do that.
When you spit that link out in a new tab, it shows you the post in the ugly-ass centered view on your dash. Hate that. Nobody wants that. I want that on the blog.
So, for that, we just gotta switch the link around a li-ittle bit.
You replace the “www” part with the blog’s name and replace the blog’s name with “post” and keep every other part and you will be transported to that specific post, on that user’s blog, from where you can then also click and navigate to the post on the blog they reblogged from without problem.
Is it unnecessarily complicated compared to the one-click it used to take? Yes.
Does it work? Yes.
