Innocently watching The Dominators, next minute:
The celestial sporran for my ‘Clan of the Golden Moons’ kilt is now finished!
Yeah, yeah, yeah - I learned a lot of things while working on this one since vinyl is not leather and has a mind of it’s own. I found a magnetic purse closure because I did not want to invest in the hardware to put in ONE snap. Perhaps I will find a filigree sun or moon charm or something to add to the front flap. Since leather does not need its edges finished, but vinyl would have showed a white edge, I covered all the edges in matching bias - need to cut it wider than I thought to conpensate for all the thickness. I also ended up doing some hand basting since you cannot pin vinyl without leaving telltale holes.
NO! No Tassels! This is a casual sporran and I do not want to hide the pattern that I went through so much work to center!
Sorry for no pic of me in the kilt with the sporran (yet), but the kilt is at another location. I promise I will get a picture soon!
