Crow pose, challenging yet doable. Yoga poses aren't about the poses. They are about learning that your mind and body can't function without one another. As I enter my mid 50's I have learned that what used to come easy to me has become more challenging. This pose used to be a no brainer, just hang out on my arms, no big deal. I love arm balancing. Today, while trying to take this photo with a timer, knowing I had 10 seconds to get into something that used to take me 3, I learned I may not be able to get the exact shot I wanted. I learned that to do what I used to be able to do without thinking was going to take some slowing down and listening to what my body was saying. So I owned that thought and action and persevered. I posted imperfection, whatever that is. To everyone perfection is something different, so therefore it can't exist. Yoga taught me to give up my idea of perfection. There is no perfect. The thought of balancing on your arms may scare some students. Fear is what arm balancing is all about. Facing your fear, knowing that by challenging fear you can usually conquer it. Flying is freeing, yet scary as hell. And remember, trying is more important then doing. You may never know what you can do unless you try. If someone says you can't do it, try it anyway. And really, who cares what others think? Does that really make a difference? If it does, maybe you need to think about getting rid of the people in your life that judge you, they are only holding you back. Lots to think about, that's why I love yoga. #upperlevelfitness #yogaeverydamnday #yogaover50 #freeyourmind #ommazinglife
