KJ and Mac are two young girls from the 80s finding themselves in the center of timetravelling shenanigans with their fellow paper girls.
"Dying is one of the few experiences we eventually all enjoy firsthand, and like most shit that's commonplace, it's boring to dwell on. My fellow inmates/classmates (and really, what's the difference?) showed me it was more interesting to concentrate on the living. Because death is fucking predictable... but life has science experiments and free time and surprise naps and who knows what comes next?"

jean-paul beaubier (northstar) - a canadian mutant introduced inĀ 1979 by marvel comics with the ability of flight, super-speed andĀ projecting photonic energy blasts. heās the first openly gay marvel character to come out, and married his husband in 2012, marking the first depiction of a same-sex wedding in mainstream comics.
jackson hyde (aqualad) - an atlantean superhero with hydrokinetic powers created by dc comics in 2016. he shares a similar origin and appearance to the superhero kaldurāahm from the young justice show, although kaldur is canonically bi or pan rather than gay
upsher - an investigative reporter and supporting character in the space opera saga, produced by image comics. he and his partner doff become entangled in the main storyline, with upsher willing to risk everything for a good story
bobby drake (iceman) - a mutant created by marvel comics in 1963 with the ice-based abilities. the character was depicted as aggressively heterosexual up untilĀ 2015, and now is one of the most well-known gay superheroes
billy kaplan (wiccan/demiurge) - a jewish superhero introduced by marvel in 2005, with extremely powerful magical abilities. he is also the reincarnated son of the scarlet witch. he married his husband, the superhero (and also king of the kree-skrull empire) hulkling, in 2020
midnighter (lucas trent) - a vigilante created in 1998, currently under dc comics, with muscle and brain implants to heighten combat ability. he, alongside his partner apollo, are among dcās longest running openly gay superheroes. heās been referred to as the gay batman
andrew pulaski (apollo) - a vigilante created in 1998, currently under dc comics, with solar-based abilities. he, alongside his partner midnighter, are among dcās longest running openly gay superheroes.Ā heās been referred to as the gay superman, as has a similar skillset
miguel barragan (bunker) - a mexican superhero created in 2011 by dc comics with the ability to create psionic energy contructs, often manifesting as brick walls. his backstory is relativelyĀ āangst-freeā and as a result he is a lot moreĀ open, comfortable, and positive about his sexuality. his powers were based on stonewall
doff - a photographer and supporting character in the space opera saga, produced by image comics. he and his partner upsher become entangled in the main storyline, with doff the more careful of the potential risks and consequences for their actions.
