Corrin slings his arm around his wife, nuzzling against her shoulder. The light from the night sky comes in through the window in the roof of the tree house. “You’re prettier th’n th’ moon…”
Azura giggles softly and strokes his hair. “You need your rest, sweetie. You’re sick.” And a little loopy on the herbal medication, apparently.
“Mm, but I’m ‘wake,” he mutters. “I wanna hug you.”
She turns a little and kisses his forehead. “You are hugging me, dear.”
“Hug me back.”
She rolls her eyes. “I only promised to stay until you fell asleep.”
“I’m n’ asleep now, am I?”
Azura curls against him and strokes his back. “All right, Corrin. Let’s get some rest…”
He smiles, his eyes closed. “M-kay…”
The next day when Azura wakes up, she sneezes.

“Chrom, where are we going?” Robin says, looking at the map in her hands. She’s been trying to save her phone battery by using good old-fashioned paper, and she’s darn good at it. But Chrom, on the other hand, isn’t going along with her directions. Which he should be good at…
“You’ll see.” He casts a glance at her and smiles, then turns back to the tree-lined dirt road as he drives.
She rolls her eyes. “So long as you don’t drive us off a cliff.”
He laughs. “No, nothing like that.”
“You know I can tell where we are on the map, right? You know I’m really, really good at maps, right? I can see we’re heading to the lake.”
“Hey, could you let me at least try to keep the surprise?”
“No,” she giggles. “Not at all.”
“Jeez…” He lets out an exasperated laugh. He pulls over and parks the car. “You know, don’t you?”
“You packed our clothes for a week, Chrom. I’m not stupid. Though I am surprised you could get me out of work for that long.”
“I pulled some strings.” He leans over and kisses her lips. “Do you know how hard it is to be your husband sometimes? I can never surprise you.”
She grins as she kisses him back. “Mm, it’s not the surprising that matters; you know that.” Her eyes spark. “Though I do love when you’re spontaneous.”
He smiles back. “You know, there’s room in the backseat if you want to get comfortable.”
