Signs, Etc. Lomo'Instant Fuji Instax Mini
Life in the faster lane
There it was, on northbound US-127, a sign inviting me to go 75 mph.
On Monday, the Michigan Department of Transportation, complying with legislation passed last year, began posting signs bumping up the speed limits on 1,500 miles of roads in Michigan.
Apparently raising speed limits is a higher priority than fixing the roads.
The changeover will be completed within the next six months.
The dubious logic for the higher limits? Most drivers were already driving at the higher speeds. In other words, let lawbreakers dictate the new legal.
So, what did I do in response to the new signs? I joined my fellow travelers and set my cruise-control to 80.
