Currently in San Francisco, landed here on Monday afternoon. It's been a hell of a journey to say the very least.
First of all the plane journey was awful, we were left sitting on a plane for three hours before it took off, in searing heat. With some dodgy turbulence we eventually landed in sunny California.
Our hostel is lovely- clean, and friendly with the occasional free alcohol. All the same we immediately began our search for permanent accomadation, needless to say we're still on the hunt. We've walked the length and breath of the city and cannot find anything suitable. There was one house on Treasure Island which was good but the general atmosphere of the whole Island was eerie and just generally weird.
We are enjoying ourselves, tonight we walked up to Union square through the gates of China town and over to Fishermans Wharf. Then we followed Jones street, up our Everest as Cristin put it (literally fucking Everest) to the top of Nob Hill.
I dare say I'm slowly losing faith in my decision to come here, although it has only been four days. We are up early and are wholly dedicated to our task in finding somewhere to live. Our initial excitement is wavering, but I refuse to let my spirit be beaten.
