When I met my soulmate at 14 I didnt know what my life had in store beyond having a forever best friend and partner. Getting married at 18 was the best decision of my life so far, and the happiest day of my life. Marriage has it's ups and downs (especially when one has to be far away from the other, for any length of time) but one thing that keeps me going is love. Every day my love grows and I didn't think that was possible. Being loved so much by someone else made it possible to begin loving myself, too.

Oh what an adventure life is. And I get to have my best friend along for the ride (forever)!

6 years ago I met the man I would marry. I was a freshman going to band camp, totally excited. Austin was a senior. We both played the trombone so we got close fast. We were best friends for an entire year before he asked me to be his. We went through so much in the 3 years we dated. He went through basic, tech school, an over-seas short tour to South Korea, and then we finally got a break ! Everything was perfect when I was going through my senior year. I graduated, turned 18, we had our 3 year anniversary and then he proposed :) now we have been married for almost 2 years. Our relationship is perfect. He's deployed right now and although it's hard, distance has always made us stronger. I couldn't imagine my life without him 💜

Reading

I have been busy with school so I haven’t been able to see Beau lately.

Yeah yeah I know cry me a river, but I do miss him and it makes me think about how much I am going to miss him when he has to leave in September.

But even with all the busy schedules, we still find time to just call each other and read stories.  I honestly look forward to it everyday now.  Even if it is just a chapter from A Series of Unfortunate Events, it is so good to get that time in together.

Can’t wait till tomorrow, so I can spend some quality face time with my lieutenant.

Everyday

I find a new reason to fall in love with Boyfriend everyday.

He does awesome things, especially when he knows I’m not feeling great.

I was cleaning up after a party I threw and was getting really tired and cranky, so the amazing guy made me sit down and he cleaned my house.  Granted, it wasn’t cleaned to “perfection”, but I didn’t care because he was making an effort to do something for me.

Later he left to go home and I was feeling down after work and dreading starting summer school so Beau called me before I went to bed and read to me.  We’re rereading the Series of Unfortunate Events in anticipation for the new series on Netflix.

All of the things he does are so small, but they mean the world to me.  It really is the small things that matter, because they all add up.

My Lieutenant is always there for me.

I have been having a terrible time with the hospital and the dmv. They want to suspend my license because I decided to exercise on a hot day and then faint.

My Lieutenant has looked up complaint sources for the hospital, reinstatement info from dmv, and has been a supportive shoulder to lean on since we met.

He isn’t amazing because he is a Lieutenant. He is a lieutenant because he is amazing. He strives to be the best in all he does and is supportive to everyone he meets.

I can truly say I love this man, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

When you're away...

Boyfriend and I went to Build A Bear today and made bears of ourselves to give to each other. It started out as a commissioning gift, but now it's turned into something better. Now Beau has something to remind him of me and I have something to remind me of him for when he leaves into the AirForce. We both put cute voice recordings on our bears too so we can always hear each other's voice. Pictures of us and out bears to come. :)
