Shane and Ilya take their daughter Valentina to her favourite city in the world. Snippet: Valentina hugged every person that came in, making sure she greeted every person. And when everyone was sitting down and had ordered their food, the petite blonde stood at front of the room to speak.

"Hi, everyone!"

A chorus of hellos and his greeted her back, making Valentina grin wider.

"I'm so excited to see everyone. Some of you, I don't get to see super often..." Her eyes immediately traveled to her Grandma Laura, Grandpa Ivan and her uncles before they traveled to the other tables. "And some of you, I see a lot more."

Catching her Papa's bright smile and her Dad's nod of approval, Valentina went on. "There are even members of this big family who couldn't make it here. I honestly didn't expect anyone to be here except for Dad and Papa. I thought we were going to have a quiet trip, just the three of us. But I want to just say thank you. You guys are the best family a girl could have. My Dads always said that 13 was a lucky number because I was born on February 13th and I had no reason not to believe that. But the real reason I'm lucky is because of all of you."

Valentina paused before she added with a cheeky grin, "And I'm pretty stoked that Team Canada won gold this year. Sorry, Uncle Scott, Uncle Carter, Uncle Cliff, but Team Canada all the way!"

Been lazy updating here but I have the first three chapters from my newest project in my newest fandom.

Excerpt: The stress had been her companion for over a week, clinging tightly to every inch of her being, and it made her want to jump out of her own skin. And it didn't help that the first thing she did stepping out of the elevator while checking her phone was walk into a tall wall of muscle, causing her to take a step back and mutter a string of apologies worthy of her Canadian status. "Hey, is okay." Elena looked up to find the striking blue eyes of Ilya Rozanov looking back at her, with a boyish smile she wasn't expecting to be met with, and her brain short circuited momentarily before she finally spoke again. "Elevator is going up. You probably want to go down." "Yes, I will wait for the next one." There was a flicker of recognition that flashed through his eyes and Elena barely caught it before it vanished. How one man could be so effortlessly cool and charming without even batting an eyelash? Rather than trust herself to continue being coherent, Elena opted for the safe choice and gave Ottawa's newest star player a quick wave before making a sharp right turn towards her destination. "By the way, I am a fan of your work. No wonder you are Canadian hero." By the time Elena had taken in the words and moved to look over her shoulder, he had slipped into the elevator and the door was closing.

Leave It On The Ice

"The Ultimate Skate Off…what is this, Yuna?" He was curious and tentative all at once, taking the image in. He recognized retired goaltender Anton Kazakov next to the figure skater, but he still didn't know what he was looking at.

"Five years ago, they created this show, where the premise is that a figure skater teaches a hockey player to figure skate and they compete together as a team to raise money for charity. They reached out back then and asked if Shane would be willing to do it. He said, and I quote, 'No fucking way.' But they reached out again…"

"Let me guess, the answer was still 'No fucking way.' from Shane." Ilya's comment came out as a statement and not the question he had intially intended it to be.

"Well, yes. But he said something interesting to me afterwards. He said, 'Why don't you ask Ilya if he wants to do it? Maybe he'd learn to figure skate for The Irina Foundation?' So here we are…" Yuna's voice trailed off, watching, waiting for Ilya's reaction for a beat before she blurted out, "But there's absolutely no pressure. I just wanted to share this with you. Just in case you might want to do it. It's entirely up to you."

Ilya could immediately see the way her anxiety was reflected back at him in her expressive eyes, much like Shane's, and he was quick to try to reassure her; he knew deep down, she meant well.

"Is okay, Yuna. It sounds like a fun idea. I want to ask Shane what he thinks before I make decisions. I don't know much about figure skating. But it could be fun." Ilya affectionately draped an arm over Yuna's shoulder to pull her in next to him as the game finally got started. "But for now, we watch hockey."

"We watch hockey," Yuna echoed with a smile, pulling up a blanket to cover both her and Ilya as he happily sipped on his coke.

Crash the Bash - Promo

But one call leads to another and both Shane and Ilya find surprises waiting for them on New Year's Eve. Snippet: It had started off with a request, one Ilya had assumed was reasonable to ask of his husband.

Ilya should have known Shane wouldn't be as receptive as he had hoped but he thought that after surviving accidentally being outed, getting married and having a few weeks under their belt playing for the same team, asking his husband to attend the Boodram holiday party wouldn't be such a big deal.

He was wrong. Oh so very wrong.

"Of course you did. Must nice for you two, getting the press to back off your rivalry a little bit."

"We are older now, we can be friends and work on the Foundation and still compete against each other."

"My little brother thinks it's great. He's a huge fan of yours."

"Tell little brother I said hello."

“You come here often?” Evan’s flirtatious voice caught Tommy’s attention.

A smile so bright that it could light up Las Vegas multiple times over took over Tommy’s face, causing his face to scrunch up. He would never get over the way Evan would give him every reason to smile. “It’s been about seven years since the last time I came around,” he admitted as a fond memory crossed his mind.

Evan slid onto the bar stool next to Tommy with a quiet chuckle. “You know that I enjoy spending time with you, right? You don’t always have to go so hard with these grand gestures and big adventures.”

“I know,” Tommy confessed, “I’ve always been a grand gestures and big adventures guy. I just haven’t always had the right person with me.”

With a raised eyebrow, Evan bit down a question and instead asked, “And you’re saying you have the right person now?”

“After six months of dating? I hope so.”

The playfulness not only in Tommy’s tone but his entire demeanor was something Evan was aware that he didn’t always show the rest of the world. He reached for his older counterpart and gave his hand a squeeze in an unspoken ‘I’m here now and I’m not going anywhere’ gesture before he asked, “So what’s next on this big adventure?”

“Tonight, we have a few drinks. And a little something for dessert as a treat.” Tommy quipped with a hint of flirtatiousness. “But tomorrow...well, how do you feel about ziplining?”

“That sounds amazing!” It was Evan’s turn to light up with pure joy and excitement.

With a satisfied smile, Tommy knew it would appeal to the adrenaline junkie in Evan. “Glad to find relatively safe ways to satisfy the adrenaline junkie in you.”

“I promise my reckless days are mostly behind me,” Evan assured him. “I’m strapped in and ready for the long haul.”

“Good because this is just the first six months. There’s plenty more of this to come.” Tommy punctuated the thought with a loving, gentle kiss to his boyfriend.
