Shashi Kapoor and Usha Uthup.

Not many know that Usha Uthup got her first chance to sing in a Hindi film, on the recommendation of Shashi Kapoor. She started her Bollywood career with Ivory-Merchant's Bombay Talkie (1970) in which she sang an English number "Good Times and Bad Times" under Shanker-Jaikishan. 

She also got another song "Hari Om Tat Sat" to sing in the same film. In Bombay Talkie, you can spot a young Usha Uthup, who was then Usha Iyer, performing as a club singer.
