I love this time of year. It's the time when notable DJs flex their mashup muscles by squeezing the year's top hits into a mesmerizing 5-minute dance track. It's just COOL.

This year's Pop Danthology Mashup from Canadian songwriter/music composer Daniel Kim has arrived. The guy lives and breathes musical creativity and continues to amaze me with his executions. A memorably innovative mashup exhibits two things: inclusion and flow. As you'll see, Kim NAILS it with these. And as such, he takes the crown for pop mashup king of 2013.

The always highly-anticipated DJ Earworm Mashup for 2013 also dropped today, and it features some particularly strange vocal affecting. This year's from Earworm wasn't an absolute standout for me, as it lacked inclusion, ease of flow, and was (at times) annoyingly [instead of cleverly] repetitive. Minus the few faux pas, however, the track is still an impressive audio-visual representation of the San Francisco DJ's talent.

But get on Kim's level with the mashup life.

Demi Lovato gets patriotic in "Made In The USA", the official second single from the Texas singer's self-titled studio album "Demi", due in stores on May 14, 2013 via Hollywood Records. Produced too by The Suspex, "Made In The USA" is a 'pure pop' song - kind of 'very' reminiscing to the vibe going on in Miley Cyrus' "USA" hit, where Demi Lovato pours her emotions out singing very catchy lyrics, and a potent chorus to her boyfriend about how amazing (and patriotic) their love is. Smash hit!
