U.S.S. Exeter
USS Exeter orbiting Earth
Name: U.S.S. Exeter
Registry: NCC-1788
Class: J-Class
Year: 2266
Captain: Mia Colt
Background: Starfleet Training vessel, Mia Colt’s first command. The cadet training cruise was overseen by Fleet Captain Pike. During a tour of the solar system they picked up an arrival of a Halogian Igniter, the same Pike and Colt had encountered aboard Enterprise not long after the Talos IV incident. Like the previous encounter, the Halogian didn’t respond to hails and went straight for Jupiter. Captain Colt was at a disadvantage with the trainer’s weak shields but had enough weapons to engage the aggressors anyway. Using a radiation beam the Halogians were trying to ignite Jupiter into a second sun. A hit on Exeter’s engineering buckled the baffle plates, Pike went to the aid of the cadets while Colt concentrated on the enemy ship. The battle was won, and not one cadet died but Pike was grievously injured in Engineering with nerve damage.
