Open Space in OTFB Utility Only Fantasy League
Earlier today, the first annual Craig Counsell Memorial Old Time Family Baseball Utility Player and Reliever Only Fantasy League for Grit and Gamesmanship (CCMOTFBUPROFLG&G) for short) held its draft. It was a great time had by all as, after the multi-position superstars like Joe Mauer (C, 1B) and Jose Bautista (3B, RF) were off the board, the real fun was had. Ever had a league where Mark Teixeira is valueless and Ty Wigginton is worth his considerable weight in gold? Or where Emilio Bonifacio is a prized second round pick? Such a league exists. In case you couldn't tell, it is this one.
Unfortunately, an owner has had to drop out following the draft, opening a spot for a new owner. While the team will need to do a fair amount of waiver wire magic, this is also a pretty strange league and could change drastically once players like Miguel Cabrera pick up their second position eligibility. It could be tough going this year, but as I would like to make this an annual event, taking part would give you a guaranteed spot for next season. On that note, I promise not to talk any more about fantasy baseball until Don Kelly surprises everyone and hits 40 home runs.

Alex Cora to Play in 2012
To wash our mouths out of the terrible news regarding Starlin Castro, let's celebrate that Alex Cora, utility fielder extraordinaire, veteran presence, holder of the 13th worst OPS of the last two years, and last in a line of Major League Cora's that stretch back to 1987, will probably come back to play for another season.
