BREW RAMBLE HOURS
something has been bothering me about the timeline. which can easily be a hole in the writing BUT I need to get this out there so a bigger nerd may chalk down the answers. OR I MIGHT GO FUCKING INSANE
Kraang1 stated that their imprisonment took around 1000 years.
and in Splinter's Tale the kraangs initial invasion was in Japan. this would imply that The Kraang arrived around Heian period, (fuedal japan)
BUT WHAT'S THIS!?
Shredder was "made" approximately around the Sengoku period. which civil wars and social upheavals took place almost continuously.
These two events are 500 years apart from one another and yet, despite the kraang being sealed away... they still have an over arcing presence throughout Tmnt world.
Claiming that the time within the prison dimension flows differently then Earth's time would be out of the question.
it would imply that the Events of Shredder and the Kraang invasion took place around the same time period.
Why is this unlikely? allow me to elaborate.
Why would The Kraang entrust their tec to a random human, during a time period when human civilization was (around) medieval, WITH Kraang tec?
we've seen what they do to their allies within the movie. it would be uncharacteristic of them to give special armour especially amidst of an invasion
not only that- it wouldn't explain the crying titian. the source of all things mystical/yokai related. Which is under New York.
The better conclusion here my friend.
is that not all "kraang" were sealed away, and even more likely- that not all kraang assisted in the initial invasion of earth. what could cause them to betray their own in favour of humans- we might never know.
but we do know that they're are more kraang out there. not because of the crying titian or the "oni".
its because of the first four minutes of the movie itself.
THIS. We've seen that only the kraang can pilot these mechs and if another creature i.e. A human were to come into possession of these suits- it would corrupt them (both mentally and physically).
"BUT BREW-" you cry. "This is the bad timeline," you say.
The only krang that was released in both timelines were The trio we all know and hate. not an entire fleet... but three lone krang. so WHERE did the rest come from?
Where they're good kraang??? ARAHJRGHRGHGRAH SO MANY QUESTIONS LEFT UNANSWERED!!!! ROTTMNT FANDOM LOOK INTO THIS
who is utroms favourite Turtle?
that would be none other, than Donnie
everyone! Meet Utrom.
The original traitor. The first defender of earth.
You may be able to read more about him Below. (side note: some things in my previous posts may be reconned)
(edit: sorry about any of the spelling and grammar errors)
Does Leo ever forgive Utrom, is that hate and distrust forever?
I feel like those feelings will lessen over the years as he grows into an adult. His opinion of Utrom shifts from "deceitful krang up to something" to "extremely incompetent wetworm of a man"
Leo's distrust of Utrom is justified for a lot of reasons.
What is Utroms relationship with the trutles?
Pre-krang reveal: Utrom eventually makes himself known to the turtles post-invasion. Acting as a goofy mentor/uncle. He'll show up at random moments to give them advice on whatever high-jinx the brothers are currently in. Leonardo however, hadn't trusted Utrom since day one. So many things about the man screamed out red flags to him. The way that Utrom is everywhere, his strange amount of knowledge, his inhumane abilities- the list could go on. The rest of the turtles (and by extension- their friends & family), adored Utrom. His presence provides a great sense of comfort as he bestows his wisdom upon them.... also the guy is just fun. he buys them free pizza
Post-krang reveal After Utrom is outed for being a krang, the Trust between him and the turtles is completely shattered. They continue being on friendly terms (except for Leo) but ultimately become suspicious of his every action.
You see, While Utrom means well, He isn't exactly forthcoming with information regarding the kraang. The knowledge he shares is rather selective, only giving one piece of the puzzle instead of the whole picture. The turtles believe him on certain things yet don't trust Utrom to be entirely honest. Donnie continues to interact with Utrom while his brothers keep the kraang at arm's length. They spawn a mutual familiar bond, one akin to estranged Uncle and troubled nephew.
Bonus: Utrom and April
Unbeknownst to both Barry and April- Utrom had made his newfound home within their apartment complex. Utrom is a good neighbour (despite being a little mysterious). however, April wouldn't mind Utrom so much if he didn't playfully flirt with her mom on an occasional basis. He doesn't realize he's doing it, Utrom thinks he's simply being friendly and making Carol {aka April's mom} laugh. (headcanon: April's parents are divorced and carol is currently single.)
Utrom was a very different person before earth
