this thing makes me crazy for so many reasons i don't even know where to start
first off its name is latin and translates to both "i am nothing" and "i have nothing." goes hard as fuck for a mind-controlling parasite, did i mention how much i LOVE parasitic pokemon. god i want more of them.
nihilego is such an INTERESTING parasite, too. like it primarily seeks out hosts that are burdened by fear and anxiety and completely removes their inhibitions and reservations, turns all their negative emotions into euphoria, quite literally makes them go crazy by unlocking their deepest desires and removing the importance of all else. this thing floods you with serotonin and dopamine and removes your ability to care about anything other than what you want to or MUST do.
the ultra deep sea is one of the most haunting locations i have ever seen in a pokemon game
i have thalassophobia so this is like, my nightmare, which of course means im obsessed.
nihilego is partially based on Myxobolus cerebralis. so i think we can safely say that this thing is going to affect the trout population.
